Posterior wall isolation in persistent atrial fibrillation feasibility, safety, durability, and efficacy
ConclusionIndex procedure PVI  + PWI for PeAF was feasible when recognizing that limited ablation in a PW center-to-right-carina zone was required in a subset of patients. Despite limited chronic PWI durability this strategy was followed by low AF-burden. A PVI + PWI strategy appears promising in ablation for PeAF. (Source: Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology)

Evolving Trends of Button Battery Ingestion in Indian Children at a Tertiary Care Hospital
Conclusions Button batteries impacted in the esophagus can lead to severe complications including death. There has been an increasing trend in the ingestion of button batteries over the last 4 years. A prompt diagnosis and emergent removal of the battery are crucial to minimize the rate of complications. Symptoms of stridor and dysphagia must be given more attention, and these children are prioritized because they are more prone to have complications. Furthermore, primary prevention and caregiver education should be emphasized, and the need for a legislation to change the policies for securing the batteries in their pr...

Flexible Bronchoscopy Diagnosis of Uncommon Congenital H-type Tracheoesophageal Fistula, Dual Fistulae, Bronchoesophageal Fistula, and Recurrence of Fistula in Children: A 20-year Experience
Conclusions: Flexible bronchoscopy should be considered as a first line investigation in uncommon aerodigestive fistulae. In the absence of a skilled bronchoscopist, the best radiologic investigation is a pull-back tube esophagogram but may still require endoscopic confirmation at the time of fistula repair. Detection of H-type bronchoesophageal fistula in a newborn: A case report and literature review
Rationale: Congenital tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) is a rare developmental malformation. The H subtype accounts for approximately 4% of TEFs. Unlike other TEFs, the H-type is not accompanied by esophageal atresia and has nonspecific clinical symptoms, and its specific anatomical abnormalities are not always readily apparent. Furthermore, none of the currently available diagnostic methods for H-type TEF have absolute sensitivity, resulting in misdiagnoses, and accurate diagnoses are often delayed even until adulthood; in our case, we detected a congenital bronchoesophageal fistula, which is even more rare than regula...
