Surgical Treatment of Medically Refractory Encapsulating Peritoneal Sclerosis in a Patient After Kidney Transplant
Exp Clin Transplant. 2024 Mar;22(3):239-241. doi: 10.6002/ect.2023.0265.ABSTRACTEncapsulating peritoneal sclerosis is a rare but highly morbid disease process in patients with end-stage kidney disease on peritoneal dialysis. Surgical management has been described in patients with encapsulation of bowel causing obstruction. Here, we describe a case of surgical management in a patient following kidney transplant with medically refractory ascites and lower extremity edema.PMID:38695593 | DOI:10.6002/ect.2023.0265 (Source: Experimental and Clinical Transplantation : official journal of the Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation)

Factors related to nocturia ‐specific quality of life in renal transplantation patients
ConclusionsNocturia-specific QOL affected not only the nocturia itself, but also aging and the prolonged duration after RTX. Thus, comprehensive approaches to the RTX patients were needed to improve the Nocturia-specific QOL in RTX patients. (Source: LUTS: Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms)

Hospitalists as Disruptors in Healthcare
Dr. Kisuule We are living in disruptive times. We are amidst national and global conflict, we survived a pandemic that changed many aspects of our lives permanently, and many of our health systems are working through financial challenges with unprecedented operating and net losses. These disruptive forces require equal and opposite forces … remember high school physics and Newton’s third law? How do we reclaim this word “disruptive” as a force for good? According to the Oxford Dictionary, disruptive is, “causing radical change in an existing industry or market through being innovative.” Healthcare disruptors a...
