HTA31 Cost-Utility Analysis of Pneumococcal Vaccines for Older Adults Available in Costa Rica
In Costa Rica, 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) and 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23) are available to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) such as meningitis, bacteremia, as well as community-acquired pneumococcal pneumonia (CAP) caused by serotypes contained in these vaccines. This analysis estimated the clinical and economic values of PCV13 and PPSV23 from the public healthcare perspective. (Source: Value in Health)

EE419 Budget Impact Analysis of Faricimab for treating patients with Diabetes Macular Edema or Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration in Costa Rica
Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) and neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration (nAMD) cause vision loss leading to loss of health-related quality of life. Faricimab is a bispecific antibody that binds and inhibits both VEGF-A and angiopoietin-2. The aim is to estimate the budget impact (BI) of using Faricimab in Costa Rica's healthcare system. EE306 The Burden of Disease of Diabetic Macular Edema and Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration in Costa Rica
Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) and neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration (nAMD) cause vision loss leading to morbidity and loss of health-related quality of life. Treatment in the country is based on laser and anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Our objective is to estimate the economic burden generated by these diseases in Costa Rica to have information that allows decision-makers to estimate the magnitude of this problem in the country. Understanding the role of personal experiences and contextual variables in shaping risk reduction preferences
This article explores how preferences for risk reduction during the COVID-19 pandemic are influenced by personal experiences and contextual variables such as having a close friend or relative who has been infected by the virus (closeness), the severity of the illness (severity), people's own perceptions of being in a risky group (risk group), change in employment status due to the pandemic (employment situation), and vaccination status (vaccination status and altruistic vaccination). We conducted a choice experiment (CE) in Chile, Colombia, and Costa Rica. The attributes of the experiment were risk reduction, latency, and ...
