Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting versus Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with Chronic Total Occlusion
Conclusion CABG is associated with superior survival to PCI over time in patients with CTO who are eligible for both PCI and CABG. This survival advantage is associated with fewer events of MI and repeat revascularization. Serum Free Fatty Acid Concentration Predicts ARDS after Off-Pump CABG: A Prospective Observational Study
ConclusionsElevated Δ-FFA levels correlated with ARDS following off-pump CABG. Monitoring FFA may assist in identifying high-risk patients for ARDS, facilitating timely interventions to improve clinical outcomes. (Source: Lung)

Machine learning prediction of hospitalization costs for coronary artery bypass grafting operations
With the steady rise in health care expenditures, the examination of factors that may influence the costs of care has garnered much attention. Although machine learning models have previously been applied in health economics, their application within cardiac surgery remains limited. We evaluated several machine learning algorithms to model hospitalization costs for coronary artery bypass grafting. (Source: Surgery)

The association of bariatric surgery with myocardial infarction and coronary revascularization: a propensity score match analysis of National Inpatient Sample
CONCLUSIONS: History of MBS is significantly associated with reduced risk of admission for AMI including STEMI and NSTEMI, as well as the, need for coronary revascularization such as PCI and CABG.PMID:38744643 | DOI:10.1016/j.soard.2024.04.010 (Source: Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases : official journal of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery)

Epicardial adipose tissue for atrial arrhythmias prediction in coronary artery disease. Are we close to the gold marker?
The incidence of the atrial arrhythmias (AA), especially atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) after revascularization is still a big challenging problem. For instance, the new-onset postoperative AF (POAF) may occur up to 33% after coronary artery bypass grafting [1,2]. Moreover, the POAF is associated with an increased risk of adverse cardiovascular events (AE), including perioperative mortality, stroke, myocardial infarction (MI), acute renal failure as well as long-term mortality, stroke and progression of AF to the long-standing persistent form [3].
