The effects of first-line pharmacological treatments for reproductive outcomes in infertile women with PCOS: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Most first-line pharmacological treatments were effective in improving clinical pregnancy. CC + MET + PIO should be recommended as the optimal therapeutic strategy to improve pregnancy outcomes. However, none of the above treatments had a beneficial effect on clinical pregnancy in obese PCOS.TRIAL REGISTRATION: CRD42020183541; 05 July 2020.PMID:36869381 | PMC:PMC9983155 | DOI:10.1186/s12958-023-01075-9 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Effect of anti-estrogen and anti-progesterone on spermatogenesis, testosterone production and expression of steroidogenic enzyme genes in adult male rats
Reprod Biol. 2023 Mar 1;23(2):100749. doi: 10.1016/j.repbio.2023.100749. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe present study was planned to investigate the anti-spermatogenic and anti-steroidogenic effects of Clomiphene Citrate (CC) an anti-estrogen and Mifepristone (MT) an anti-progesterone in the testis of male rats. Following the oral administration of 1.0 mg and 5.0 mg/kg b.w/day of each for the duration of 30 and 60 days, quantitation of spermatogenesis, RIA for serum and intra-testicular testosterone levels, western blotting and RT-PCR for expression of StAR, 3β-HSD and P450arom enzymes in the testis was done. Clomiphen...

Pharmacological intervention of biosynthesized < em > Nigella sativa < /em > silver nanoparticles against hexavalent chromium induced toxicity in male albino mice
Saudi J Biol Sci. 2023 Mar;30(3):103570. doi: 10.1016/j.sjbs.2023.103570. Epub 2023 Jan 25.ABSTRACTHexavalent chromium, toxic heavy metal, among the top-rated environmental contaminants, is declared a potent endocrine disruptor in humans and animals. The present study was planned to find harmful effects on the reproductive system caused by Cr (VI) and the ameliorative effect of Nigella sativa and Nigella sativa-mediated AgNP on male mice (Mus musculus). In the present study, known infertility medicine, clomiphene citrate is also used as a positive control. The main objective of the present study was to assess the ameliorat...
