Research Question for Medical Students
Research for med school
Sophomore pre med, kind of panicking. I plan to go to med school once I graduate. I do hospital volunteering, worked at an eye clinic for a year, started a pharmacy tech job, do ESL tutoring, tutored math at my college and for elementary- middle school kids. I shadow physicians weekly and will likely be starting a volunteer scribing position soon and also tutor chemistry on campus. I plan to keep a 4.0 GPA . Can I Take the MCAT Before Finishing Prerequisites?
Hello. Can I take the MCAT exam before taking organic chemistry 2, physics 2, and biochemistry? I'm a nontraditional student and I plan to complete my prerequisites coursework by Fall of 2024. I wanted to apply for the next application cycle to start med school in the fall of 2025. As a transfer, is taking pre-reqs at my previous university ok?
Hello, I transferred to Cornell from UMass Amherst. I'm currently a sophomore. I am currently taking physics, and plan on taking organic chemistry 1 and 2 (lectures only) over the summer at UMass. My plan is to take Cornell orgo lab during junior fall, and also biochem/genetics/etc at Cornell. Is this ok? My logic is that prestige doesn't matter, and that my Gen bio/Gen chem/stat/calc 1 grades are already from UMass.

Worth it to re-take Physics (last time 15+ years ago w/ 2 Cs) to help raise my BCPM GPA? Or focus time self-studying to obtain good MCAT score?
Sorry for the long post...I'm a non-traditional student meaning I completed my undergraduate classes over 15 years ago. My sGPA, particularly my undergraduate sGPA, was pretty low and just a bit above 3.0.
The bad news is I got Cs in Physics both semesters of my undergraduate (as well as Bs in both semesters of Organic Chemistry). I have taken neither again since then. (Aside: I thought I wanted to be a PA which doesn't require them as prereqs.) I was completely lost as a young college...

I am an ORM (Chinese American) Florida resident planning to apply to all Florida MD/DO schools.
