Looking for input from graduating super fellows (IC and EP)
I have perused through this forum and read through various EP vs IC discussions. I am looking for real world (anonymous) examples of the experience current graduating fellows have had in regards to job searches. What is the current market like for each? The demand, offers, practice type, locations, and the job expectations. Hooping this will spur discussions that will help current first and second year general fellows looking for future directions. Hopkins vs WashU vs Northwestern
Hi guys! I'm very grateful for how my cycle has turned out and would appreciate any insight/advice! I'm interested in pursuing ortho/cardio/derm but recognize that these interests will likely change. I'd prefer to work in private practice and/or do some entrepreneurship but can also envision myself in an academic medical setting. 1. WashU Pros: True P/F preclinical (no internal rankings) Stellar match list Barnes-Jewish is extremely strong, heard amazing things about the hospital... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Which departments bring in the most money for academic medical centers?
I'm guessing radiology, cardiology, GI, and all the surgical specialties, but would love to hear all your thoughts. Also, regarding the converse question, which departments tend to be net costs? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Western U vs Cornell vs Ohio vs Washington?
Hello, I'm sorry there's so many schools- I was incredibly fortunate with my admission and was admitted into most of my top programs! Unfortunately, this has led to a stressful dilemma as I don't know where to go, and obviously the April 15 deadline is fast approaching. Just want to get some info from those who have more insight than me. Other necessary info: -I 100% want to specialize in Large Animal or Equine Surgery, Neurology/Neurosurgery, or Cardiology. I want to set myself up for the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Long SOM vs Virginia SOM
Hey everyone! I would rlly appreciate some assistance in deciding between Long SOM in San Antonio and UVASOM. Just some background about me, I live in Dallas with parents and am hoping to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine to become a cardiologist or oncologist. Cardiology Interest Group Help!
Hi all! Current New York MS1 here hoping to pursue cardiology. The med school I attend does not have a cardiology interest group, and I am getting quite a bit of resistance from our club commissioner with beginning it as it falls under IM. I have so many ideas for this, have backing by the cardiology department as well as IMIG leadership, and am extremely passionate about this. If your medical school has both IM interest group AND cardiology interest group, I would love to be able to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Concerning trend: Radiology has the slowest compensation growth of any specialty
From 2010 to 2019, only a .6% increase per year, not even keeping up with inflation, and lowest of all specialties. MGMA paints an even bleaker picture, with a 2010 avg of 515k and a 2021 avg of 505k, with other specialties growing 30-60% over the same time period. Surgical subspecialists and cardiologists have had particularly large increases. As someone applying to radiology soon, this trend is really concerning to me. By the time I hopefully make partner, Radiology will likely be... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
