D1 year basic concepts review guide?
Hi guys, Hope you're all doing well with everything going on. I have been thinking of making a review guide of D1 year, of mostly the main concepts that we will need to know and carry out throughout out these 4 years and maybe even beyond. It's been a whirlwind and I feel like I don't know what I know and what I don't know. So this will probably range from main things we learned in Perio, Dental Anatomy, Operative Dentistry, and Occlusion. Has this ever been done before? If so, anyone... (Advice needed) Pharmacy vs Physical therapy?
Hello, So I am in my sophomore-junior year majoring in biology and I have maintained mostly 4.0s including General Bio, General chem and Anatomy and Physiology calculs1... etc in community college I originally wanted to pursue pharmacy but a lot of negative comments on the internet (including forums here) and a few pharmacists that I have personally interviewed discouraged me to become a pharmacist because of the saturation of the market. I am now considering Physical therapy but I am not... (Advice needed) Pharmacy vs Physical therapy? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Radiology video series - recommendations?
Hi everyone, I'm a fourth year medical student applying into radiology. Does anyone have recommendations for a video lecture series that will help me learn radiology? In particular, I am hoping to find a series with a focus on learning normal anatomy (anatomy is definitely not my strong suit, to say the least). My short-term goal is to get ready for my upcoming audition rotations... but I also am just genuinely interested in learning all-things radiology. (I just finished working my way... Taking 3 science classes in one semester as a non-science major
So this semester I was planning on taking General Chemistry 1, General Biology 1, Physiology. Any thoughts on how I should go about taking these three together? I have already taken Human Anatomy in the previous Spring 2020 semester. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

School list help for a reapplicant?? THANKS
Hi folks. Reapplicant here! I'd love any advice. My list right now is too big and I need to cut it down. major: biomedical sciences, minor: psychology, cGPA: 3.87, sGPA: 3.84, MCAT: 517 EC: RA for 3 years; 50 hours clinical volunteering; 150 non-clinical volunteering (sexual assault and domestic violence treatment center crisis line); NO research; tons of work experience in undergrad as a waitress and as a barista; TA for clinical anatomy and gross anatomy lab (one year total); TA for... Medical schools that do NOT have cadavers?
I don't want to apply to or attend a medical school that uses cadavers as the primary focus for anatomy and am trying to make a list of medical schools that use VR or simulations instead. Here is my list so far, hoping others can add -- thanks! Kaiser Cleveland Clinic UCSF Case Western WSU (might be a mix?) Iowa (might be a mix?) TCU/UNTHSC UTRGV Dell (UT Austin, likely a mix but heavy on VR and digital) (Not trying to argue whether the experience is important. But if you're interested in... non-trad pre-med student
Hi all, I am an aspiring, non-traditional pre-medical student in California. I went to a community college (CC) before graduating from a 4-year in 2018 with a Bachelors's degree in Healthcare Administration. I took an Introduction to Biology course (got a B) and Anatomy and Physiology course (got a C) at the CC as pre-requisite requirements for the degree. Aside from these courses, I have not completed any other sciences, which means I need to fulfill the pre-requisite courses needed for... non-trad pre-med student (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Incoming MS1. Med school is basically all online until at least late-December
Mini- rant because there is nowhere else to vent. About to start MS1 in August. I'm a bit disappointed that pretty much everything will be online (including the vast majority of anatomy) until at least January. We will have a few hands on training at campus but that's about it in terms of in-person instruction. Anyways, it kind of blows that we won't be able to undergo the same rites of passage as other medical students in the past. For those currently in medical school, will this have any... Incoming MS1. Do upper-levels science courses needed in medical schools?
Hey, I’m a rising sophomore major in chemical engineering. Due to my major, I don’t have that much time to complete many upper-levels chem/bio courses as the tradition pre-med I definitely would take biochemistry 1 with anatomy and physiology. My questions is would it be enough to survive in medical schools later on? I’m worry that I won’t have a strong background as others. In addition, I'm considering taking cell molecular too. Is is going to help me with the MCAT or do general biology... Do upper-levels science courses needed in medical schools? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Summer between MS1 and MS2 studying
Hey all, I have recently completed my MS1, and have heard mixed things about studying/reviewing for Step 1 during this Summer. I did well in my classes, but I did some Scholar Rx questions in biochem and anatomy the other day and barely remembered a thing (we took those classes at the very beginning of the year). My plan was at the minimum to keep up with my Anking reviews and do all of the Scholar Rx questions for material that we learned this past year. However, I've heard mixed things... Decision Help: Masters in Human Anatomy, MSBS, or post-bacc?
Hi All, Background: I am 2 years removed from my undergraduate studies where I graduated with a 3.488 cGPA and a 3.42 sGPA. I had a hiccup with a 2.89 GPA my second to last semester and followed it with a 3.95 GPA. I decided to get a job in my local hospital after graduation as an OR Assistant and have since moved on to working as an anesthesia technician (roughly 2 years full time), while continuing my work with an individual who has cerebral palsy (~3000 hrs). My work in the hospital has... Decision Help: Masters in Human Anatomy, MSBS, or post-bacc? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Temple (LKSOM) vs SLU (asap-ish help lol)
Temple Pros - Medical School is brand new was actually gorgeous seemed like an incredible place to learn - North Philly is under-served and has a diverse patient population - Seems like temple has inhouse residency programs in most surgical subs ( mini con: couldn't find vascular surgery outside of a gen-surg fellowship but maybe this doesnt matter) -US News higher rank (although i mean this seems negligible) - incredible anatomy lab (maybe this a lame thing) Cons -Fox-chase just sold to... Tulane MS in Microbiology & Immunology Program info
I realize that there are tons of forums for the other Tulane MS programs but there is not one with sufficient information on their micro & immunology program. I was recently accepted and received some info from the program director and wanted to share it to help anyone applying to postbac programs. The program is new (~5 years) and is VERY comparable to their other MS programs like anatomy, pharmacology, biochemistry, cell & mol bio. It piggybacks off the structure and objectives of these... Writing papers in vet school?
Hello, I am preparing for vet school and I wanted to know if there is a lot of long paper writing in vet school? I don’t mind studying all night and working on chem, bio or anatomy; but writing long research papers really takes it out me. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I summer courses and push back my DAT?
I'm planning on sending in my applications before the end of June. I'm signed up for the DAT on July 15th after my original test date was canceled in April. I'm debating whether I should take anatomy and physics II this summer. The only downside to taking both those classes is that I'd want to push back my DAT a week or two just to have a little extra breathing room to make sure that I can continue to review for the DAT and excelling in each of those classes. I know that schools don't look... Should I summer courses and push back my DAT? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
