Traditional Vet School Application: C- in Transcript
Hi all! I'm hoping to apply to vet school this summer. As I was looking back on my transcript I noticed I received a C- last fall in Orgo 2 I don't know why it didn't register it was this low until now, all this time I remembered it being a C+/B-. In past semesters (prior to the C-) I've received 2 C+'s during personally difficult times; one being in Gen Chem 2, and one being in a notoriously difficult human anatomy course. I know a lot of vet schools do not accept a C-, and I believe... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

ATSU-KCOM vs KCU vs COMP-NW
ATSU-KCOM Pros Old school with large alumni network Good facilities with anatomy lab, simulation center, student gym, etc Rural (I personally like rural areas) Facilitates audition rotations Cons Missouri. It's a long ways away from me. Having to move for years 3-4 or travel longer distances for rotations KCU-Joplin Pros Pretty similar to ATSU-KCOM. Old school, good facilities Still rural-ish (personal preference), but... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Study advice for winter break - M1
Hey all! Current M1 who just started winter break looking for some advice. So far we've finished anatomy and a combined class that covered mostly biochem/basic physio/immuno/basic path and some pharm as well. Now that I have some free time, I was hoping to start using AnKing and other resources in preparation for step 1 and COMLEX. Does anybody have any recommendations as to how I should approach studying over break? Should I start watching videos and unsuspending cards based on what we... Pass/fail option
Hello all I need some advice in regards to my anatomy grade. I retook anatomy because when I took it as a young naive highschooler for post secondary I received a C. As it is coming to an end it appears that my grade may most likely be a B. However, there was an option to make it satisfactory/unsatisfactory. Does this look bad that I only got a B when I retook it? Should I make it satisfactory or keep it as a B? There is no +\- and only ABC (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Best Neuroanatomy Practice Question Resource?
Hi, I'm looking for a practice question resource similar to Gray's Anatomy Review or UMich, but specific to Neuroanatomy. I've looked at BRS but was wondering if anyone had recommendations otherwise. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

3.7 overall gpa, 3.57 sGPA
I’m a current junior and my overall gpa would be 3.7, with sgpa of around 3.57. I currently am doing research in the anatomy & neurology department of my school (it’s an online position for now due to Covid) and have been volunteering too (40 hours ER, and some leadership, but not too much because of covid, which is also stressful). I do not have any in person shadowing hours (only 10 hours with a dentist which I didn’t continue), again because of covid. I will also be a TA for an upper... Anatomy/Physiology textbook recommendations for an incoming med student
Hi all, I have been very fortunate to have been accepted to a med school (Iowa Carver, and have some more interviews coming). A lot of my current med students friends, my mom (former physician), and other advisors (also physicians) have recommended that I start looking over some anatomy or physiology textbooks so I don't get swamped when I enter next fall. Could current med students please give me any recommendations for textbooks or resources I could look into? Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Help on course and institution selection please?
Hey everybody, So, I'm strongly considering taking classes again and doing a DIY postbacc starting January of next year or sooner. I'm planning to work out in Southern California (most likely around LA and Orange County) by the end of the month most likely, and I'm wondering if any of you can suggest any institutions and classes out there in Southern California, while I do that please? I'm looking at courses that I could get a 3.7+ in ideally and considering anatomy and physiology along with... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Bcpm classification help
Hi everyone, I’m on my last stretch of final semester in spring, and I’m taking some heavy course load so I wanted a fun easy elective that still counts for science gpa as a buffer. These are the descriptions if anyone can let me know their thoughts if these count for science gpa? Thank you! Anyone else enjoy surgery rotation but would never want to do it long term?
Got diagnosed with Covid last weekend so I'm missing the last two weeks of my ortho rotation. Even though I really did not enjoy my surgery rotation (too much standing around, not alot of actual medicine for students to do), I'm getting hit hard with "not going to set foot in the OR again" vibes. Felt the same thing after my last anatomy lab and hated anatomy lab lol. Sometimes I think about going for surg, but I'm 100% sure I have some rosy picture of what surgery is and I would actually... Orgo I, Microbiology, and Anatomy in 1 semester?
For the fall of 2020, I am scheduled to take organic I, gen. microbiology, and human anatomy, each with its own laboratory. Am I possibly making a mistake? This past semester I took cell biology, gen chem 2, and nutrition, and had no issues with As in each. Should I just shoulder the load, or replace one of these classes with physics 2? Thank you in advance. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Feedback on pain procedure resource project
Hi, I'm a pain physician in private practice. I miss the ability to teach so I thought I'd work on an educational project in my free time, and I'm looking for feedback. In my own training I found that I didn't have good technique descriptions for procedures or sample images to go off of but I have access to a lot of those now so I thought I could compile them into well organized articles with other related material like discussion of anatomy, videos, sample opnotes, etc. There are varied... Should I take another semester of science courses and re-take 1yr of General Chemistry?
I graduated from college almost 2 years ago but I've been doing a DIY post-bacc among working and other things. I'm currently taking 3 courses this semester but in 8-week sessions. Anatomy & Physiology 1 (4 credits) just finished a few days ago and I got an A (4.0). Now I have Anatomy & Physiology 2 (4 credits) and Organic Chemistry 2 (4 credits). In undergrad, I got a C in General Chemistry 1 lecture (3 credits) and a B+ in the lab (1 credit). In General Chemistry 2 I got a C+ (4 credits)...
