I will now have 9 W's on my transcript
I am going into my third year and will have 9 W's. One was an accidental W (schools fault for making me take a course that wasn't required then saying I should drop it). This was during first year. Six more W's came when I withdrew from my first University due to my seeing of how they were not good for me, the teachers were not helping me and my advisor was not for me. Now this semester, I am dropping anatomy and its lab because my teacher is being discriminatory against me. Getting mad... I will now have 9 W's on my transcript (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Failing Anatomy at LECOM PBL. :(
Hey everyone! I made a post about a few weeks ago regarding me struggling at the beginning of Anatomy, well the struggle has been throughout and I am pretty sure I'm going to fail the class. I know plenty of my friends who are in the same spot, but this test tomorrow was crunched in such a small amount of time, that I am seriously clueless. I had somewhat of an idea of what I was doing the past two previous exams, but this one I am completely lost on. I'm trying to tell myself it'll be... Failing Anatomy at LECOM PBL. Stressed about being a bad medical student
Dear SDN, I am an M2 (yay T^T) I am not so great at attention to detail or organization, so I have been having some trouble making meetings. I haven't gotten any professionalism citations or anything like that but one of my instructors is concerned. It's nothing intentional and I'm passing all my courses and have been from the beginning, and the only classes I did particularly poorly in were anatomy and microbio. I feel lost and I don't know what to do, I feel like there is something... Stressed about being a bad medical student (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Because I suck at anatomy, does it mean there is a high chance I will fail boards?
Hi everyone, My school does a separate lower extremity anatomy course. I got my test scores back today and I failed by six points. My scores haven't been the greatest in this class but I was still passing my previous exams. I am not going to fail the course but I will probably finish with a C+. Today's score got me anxious and thinking about boards. I don't have problems with any other courses as much, but I don't know why I suck so much in anatomy. Even in general anatomy, I finished... RFA machine shopping: needs: perpendicular lesion ability and multilesion ability
Just as the thread title states. I currently utilize the Kimberly-Clark/halyard/Avanos machine. It is what I used in fellowship and when started in practice a little more than 10 years ago I got the same one. I really like cooled RFA in the lumbar spine especially for obese patients or patients with tough anatomy. It is great to be able to come in perpendicular because you get a very true view of the junction being squared up and you are obliqued so you get anterior enough without... Do I need to take less notes?
Hi everyone, So I'm in my first semester of med school. I find myself taking 3-4 hours to get through a 1 hr lecture, often taking like, 7-10 pages of types notes. My buddy told me she can do 1-2 pages of notes and revise them vigrarously, and she seems to be doing much better than me, in terms of time managements and also in terms of scores. A few other classmates told me they bombed the first anatomy exam like I did, because of taking toooo much time to revise the lectures that were not... Do I need to take less notes? For those who skipped lecture and just used Anki/Zanki, how?
I'm finding our class lectures really difficult to go through and I end up just learning it again for myself from the textbook or google. So I have been thinking of just skipping lecture and using Dope Anatomy/Zanki, but am unsure how to go about it. What do you use to learn the primary material in those cards? or do you just learn from the cards themselves? I was thinking of doing the following.... 1) Read anatomy textbook based on what we're going over in class (or 3rd party material... For those who skipped lecture and just used Anki/Zanki, how? VA Claims
Does anyone know more about these and what level of evidence the VA needs? I have people that either have journal article worthy anatomy, or they're making stuff up in order to get an MRI to get stuff "documented." Then of course everyone wants to "sign up" for their sleep study before retiring. A group of folks that work together and are getting out all suddenly came to see me for acid reflux. I looked it up an apparently GERD can get you 10, 30, or 60% disability, depending on severity... VA Claims (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Annoying Small Groups
Just wondering if other people at different institutions are in the same boat as me. My school requires a ridiculous number of required small group sessions per week for lecture based material. We also have to watch 1-3 hour long pre-work videos prior to these small group sessions and are subsequently assigned worksheet questions that we have to discuss for nearly 2.5 hours, 3-4 times a week. This is on top of two 3 hour anatomy lab sessions per week. What's even worse is that these small... Annoying Small Groups (Source: Student Doctor Network)

3rd party material/ anki for preclinicals
Hopefully this is the right place to post. I'm a few weeks into my first year and so far I've just been doing all the class material provided by my school (live/recorded lectures, class problems). I'm wondering when and how I should incorporate outside materials into my study routine. So far I have access to boards&beyond, First Aid, and I am familiar with Pathoma/Sketchy. My school's curriculum has us doing anatomy, biochem/metabolism, and histology right now. I like studying with Anki so... 3rd party material/ anki for preclinicals (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Anki anatomy decks
Looking for an image occlusion based deck that is broken down by anatomical region instead of just one giant deck. Not a big fan of my school's deck in that it has a description followed by a netter's image with answer of the muscle/structure. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How did you study Anatomy? Feeling overwhelmed
Just started anatomy this week and each hour long lecture is taking me 3-4 hours to get through (say nothing of retention). I go through each lecture and keep stopping at points that are not clear to me or that i do not understand and it ends up taking me forever. How do you guys/girls approach lecture? How did you guys study for anatomy? Did you use your class anki deck? Or just use premade decks like Dope anatomy? 1) Did you use your school anatomy lectures or something else? 2) What... What makes your med school curriculum unique?
Hey guys, so I'm applying to be an OSA rep in my med school and we have the opportunity to create a long 4 year project to improve medical training at our school. Some past projects include meditation courses, more mentorship, and earlier and more diverse specialty exploration options. Beyond cookie cutter courses like anatomy, biochem, renal, GI, clinical med, etc, I'm sure each medical school is slightly different and offers slightly different resources for its medical students. That's... What makes your med school curriculum unique? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I thought getting in was the hard part
Gross anatomy has been more soul crushing than MCAT prep. Seriously, what’s the point memorizing such a huge volume of **** in such a small timeframe that we’ll forget as soon as the block is over? I get that we need to know the body, but every intricate tendon, ligament, artery, nerve in the hand/fingers? Hard to stay positive when you don’t see the point and suck at memorizing large volumes of information you see little utility in learning. It’s mindless. There’s nothing conceptual...
