Ultrasound needles
I purchased a vscan air. First patient was for tibial nerve blocks. I could see my anatomy fine. I used a 20g Tuohy but could not see it at all. Got the blocks in using hydrodissection. Looking for recs for cheap but better needles. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Using COVID essay to explain bad grade?
So I enrolled in an SMP and I still have 2 more classes to finish before I can get the degree. I believe I did alright so far, but I got a B- in my Gross Anatomy class. I'm grateful that I was even able to get a B, but I feel like around here, if you don't get a 99% or higher, the consensus is to just go ahead and pursue nursing or another career lol. I strongly believe that if my anatomy class was in-person then I could have done a bit better. Part of why I feel I didn't get an A in the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

advice on gen surg books
Good morning, Just wondering if anyone can please lend me some guidance on some gen surg books. My former med school mentor told me to get three books for vasc surg but since the first two years of my residency are basically gen surg so I'm just wondering if there are any books similar to these three: 1. The textbook: rutherford's vascular and endovascular surgery 2. The techniques: atlas of vascular and endovascular therapy 3. the anatomy: anatomical exposure in vascular surgery Thank... Future activity?
Hey guys, I just got accepted to a program at my university's medical school where I will be overseeing the medical students as they do their cadaver dissections in the anatomy lab. I will be performing the same dissection on a cadaver beforehand and then answering their questions and helping them do their own dissections. I am getting ready to submit my AMCAS application today, and I am wondering if I should add this experience to my activities although it won't start until August of this... What dental schools should I apply to with low GPA and masters?
Hi everyone! I just completed undergrad with a biology major and a double minor in pre-health and psychology in health sciences. I finished with a VERY low GPA - 2.8 (immaturity and family issues) and took the DAT a few years ago (without studying enough) and ended up with an AA of 17. I am joining a one year masters program in August in a masters of medical sciences with a concentration in anatomy and I am studying for the DAT again to retake in early August. I truly believe I will do... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Readmission to Vet School
Hello everyone. I am a first year vet student that didn't pass anatomy by one point. The end result: dismissal from CVM. The faculty of CVM appeared to be supportive and offered to help me deal with this before I petition to be readmitted in fall 2020. In the mean time, I am required to take harder undergraduate level courses in classes that I received a C- or lower in. Once I complete those undergraduate courses, I can write a letter to the assistant dean to petition for readmission. Now... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

General Questions about medical school.
Hello everyone, I will be starting medical school this fall. I wanted to ask some questions and get some advice. I have read other threads like this and have been talking to current students at the school I plan to attend. However, I do want to seek more advice and different perspectives. The questions are below: 1) I know prestudying is not recommended. But would it be wrong to just lightly review some genetics/biochem and some basic anatomy flash cards I have? 2) I was wanting to be... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Would "life science" course count toward BCPM?
BSC1005, department is biological sciences This is the course description: A survey of life on earth for non-majors. Evolution, anatomy, physiology, genetics, reproduction, and ecology are stressed. Lectures and discussions also demonstrate how biological knowledge is relevant to social, economic, environmental and philosophical problems. This is a General Education course. Initially it sounds like it obviously does, but the "social, economic, enviro..." part concerns me. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Creighton vs Indiana
I'm having such a hard time deciding. COA is basically the same, so just looking for some input. Specialties of interest include orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and radiology, but definitely subject to change. Creighton (Phoenix) Pros Brand new campus and buildings (amazing anatomy lab) Non-mandatory recorded lectures Great local hospitals for rotations Good curriculum timeline and elective clerkships Good match list when considering... Science/non-science LORs
Hello all, Does an Anatomy and Physiology lecture and/or lab professor count as a science professor for science LOR? I know they say "biology", but is AP under the umbrella of biology or something? Not sure how this works and haven't been able to find an answer anywhere. Also, would a Health Sciences Research Methods professor be considered a non-science or science professor? Thanks!
