All time low? West Coast University advertises on the radio to get applicants.
Was driving home, heard an advertisement on a very popular radio station asking listeners if they want to study to become a doctor of pharmacy at West Coast University. The advertisement had a disclaimer that employment is NOT guaranteed. I'd say that has to be considered one of the all time low moments for the profession. Maybe as low as WCU CPJE passing rate: CPJE Pass Rates – California School of Pharmacy by Percent: 46.2% NAPLEX Pass Rates – California School of Pharmacy by Percent... Jobs in SLC or Denver
Currently working at an AMC and have finally gotten tired of it. The battle from direction to supervision was finally lost at our practice. The slow move towards supervision with more and more responsibility is tiring.I’m not trying to be a liability sponge. Really looking for a private practice in one of these cities. I’ve read a lot of threads on here about true PP not advertising jobs but how else do I find these jobs ? I’ve heard good things about mountain west but is there... Thread for scam jobs
Wanted to start a thread to post about jobs that turned out to be essentially a scam. For example, I recently responded to a posting from gasworks. Group was "looking for 1 anesthesiologist" was advertising a competitive salary. I responded, touched base, and even did a site visit. Apparently the hospital had built an entire new OR and realistically they needed probably 8-10 more people. Kicker was they told me the salary was actually about $75,000 less per year than was advertised... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Locum in Canada
Does anyone have experience locuming in Canada? I've been doing lots of stints in Australia and want to head over there for a couple years and travel around. But there don't seem to be too many jobs openly advertised, and the physician locum companies I've contacted all appear to be identity fraud scams! Any suggestions for companies, or direct contacts? RPHS quitting due to vaccine mandate??
Anyone have strong Anti-Vax RPHS in their district? I know of a few who are threatening to leave/retire over this when it becomes required next year. I am thinking there may be more job openings soon. The highest sign on I have seen advertised is 50K by both WG and CVS. I am thinking if enough of these boomers throw in the towel we might see 100k up front soon for experienced managers (myself included). Exciting! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Expected rate of growth of private practice
Hello community! I’m an ECP looking to transition into full time private practice. I live in NYC. I will likely accept cash only at avg to a bit less cost than avg psychiatrist. I plan on doing 30min f/u sessions. I plan on advertising with a website and through psychology/therapist search websites. Can those with their own practice share their growth rate per month? How many new clients did you get per month? How many clients did you take into your practice before saying you were full... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Finding a good PCP job
So I'm a PGY2 coming close to looking for jobs and talking to my seniors. My question is, how do you find a good PCP gig? For hospitalist it seems straightforward, google hospitals then call them and ask who provides coverage, then ask the group if they have any needs. It seems like most good PCP jobs are not advertised, especially ones with partner track, with reasonable pay. How do you find these jobs? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Inpatient mornings, outpatient afternoons. How do I achieve this?
I want to do both inpatient and outpatient. I want to find an inpatient job that allows me to get in early, round, leave by lunch, then do clinic in the afternoon and finish by 5ish. How do I approach inpatient jobs like this or what should I look for? Is the ability to leave after rounding something that can be negotiated? Are these jobs advertised in such a way? I had a couple attendings in med school who were rounding on 2-3 different hospitals each (and making loads of money, though... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cover Letter for Federal Job
What do people think about submitting cover letters for federal jobs? All the listings I see indicate that they are optional, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot for a job that I am very interested in. For some context, I'm a current VA employee looking to move within the agency. (I'd ask colleagues but not quite ready to advertise that I'm looking elsewhere) (Source: Student Doctor Network)
