Volume of Systemic Cancer Therapy Delivery and Outcomes of Patients with Solid Tumors: A Systematic Review and Methodologic Evaluation of the Literature
ConclusionThe available evidence suggests that volume of systemic therapy provision for solid tumors may be associated with improved survival. However, each study identified in this review contains such considerable methodologic shortcomings and/or unresolved confounding that estimation of an unbiased treatment effect is not possible. High quality research is needed prior to implementation of volume-based regionalization policies for systemic therapy.
