Genomic heterogeneity in peritoneal implants: A differential analysis of gene expression using nanostring Human Cancer Reference panel identifies a malignant signature.

CONCLUSIONS: Invasive implants are heterogenous and often morphologically indistinguishable lesions with transcriptomes that may be classified as malignant or not. Additional research is needed to determine the importance of these genes as drivers and/or surrogates of malignant potential, and their utility for triaging invasive implants. CONCLUSION: Extensive research have been carried out on various process for preparing Bortezomib and composition thereof. This type of dynamic research will clear the path for many generic players in the United States which lead in reduction of price of the composition and thereby enhancing global health care at cheaper prices. OBJECTIVES: Aromatase inhibitors are the first-choice drugs for the treatment of hormone sensitive breast cancer. However, in addition to the scarcity of studies, there are controversies about their effects on vaginal epithelial cell proliferation in rats, especially those in persistent estrus. METHODS: To investigate vaginal epithelial cell proliferation by Ki-67 antigen expression, persistent estrus was induced in 42 randomly selected rats. These rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: group I (control, n=21), which received 0.1 mL of propylene glycol (vehicle) daily, and group II (experimental, n=21), which received 0...

Authors: Okamura K, Bandai S, Fujikawa M, Sato K, Kitazono T Abstract The treatment of Graves' hyperthyroidism (GD) complicated with malignancy is challenging, as anti-thyroid thionamide drugs (ATDs) and anti-cancer chemotherapy are both associated with a risk of neutropenia. Treatment with conventional ATDs, radioactive iodine (RAI) or potassium iodide (KI) was attempted in 8 patients with malignancy (34-80 years of age; 2 males and 6 females) in whom GD had been fortuitously diagnosed during a detailed systematic examination. Three patients requiring surgery were initially treated conventionally with methylmercap...

Authors: Prieux-Klotz C, Dermine S, Palmieri LJ, Lavole J, Chaussade S, Brezault C, Coriat R Abstract Targeted therapy and oral chemotherapy indications are increasing in the realm of digestive oncology. Oral intake of cancer agents is sometimes compulsory (no i.v. equivalent) or is preferred by the patient or the physician. Although oral chemotherapy facilitates the treatment of oncology patients, the treatment diversity, risk of pharmaceutical interactions and monitoring of side effects are potentially challenging and need to be fully acknowledged by the physician. We offer here a literature review of the indicat...

Authors: Hu W, Su Y, Fei X, Wang X, Zhang G, Su C, Du T, Yang T, Wang G, Tang Z, Zhang J Abstract Ubiquitin specific peptidase 19 (USP19) is a member of the USP family and exhibits diverse roles in various biological processes, such as cell differentiation, cell cycle progression and apoptosis. There is limited knowledge regarding the role and impact of USP19 in cancer, particularly clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). To examine the function of USP19 in ccRCC, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus databases were examined to determine USP19 mRNA expression levels. USP19 mRNA levels were sig...

ConclusionsPositive findings in abdominopelvic washing cytology is rare. The majority of the positive cases were from müllerian origins, with ovary and uterus as the most common sites. Endometrial adenocarcinoma, endometrioid type and ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma were the most common tumor types. Knowing prior history of malignancy, morphologic comparison with concurrent surgical cases, and performing ancillary studies are keys to improve diagnostic accuracy of abdominopelvic washings.

AbstractOvarian high-grade serous adenocarcinoma responds well to regular platinum/taxane chemotherapy, while borderline tumor survives and demonstrates persistent disease. A 69-year-old Japanese woman was suspected for having advanced ovarian carcinoma. MRI showed cystic tumor containing solid component of the right adnexal region with massive ascites and peritoneal dissemination. Serum CA125 was elevated to 203  µ/ml; however, no remote metastases were detected. Laparotomy revealed that peritoneal carcinomatosis spreads out to omentum and subphrenic area. Omentum was partially removed with big tumor nodules th...

Samarth Shukla, Deepti Srivastava, Sourya Acharya, Shweta Dhote, Sunita VaghaJournal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics 2015 11(4):1030-1030Surface epithelial tumors of the ovary comprise over fourth of the ovarian neoplasms. Serous adenofibromas are lesser known variants of serous surface epithelial tumors. Though these tumors have a benign fate, yet they can be misinterpreted clinically and radiologically due to their borderline or malignant gross morphological as well as clinical presentation. The cell of origin of surface epithelial tumors of the ovary is histological debated; however, it is now ascertained to have or...
