Short-term versus long-term psychotherapy for adult psychiatric disorders: a protocol for a systematic review with meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis

DiscussionAs psychotherapy is among the treatments of choice for most adult psychiatric disorders, a systematic review evaluating the benefits and harms of short-term compared with long-term psychotherapy is urgently needed. It is the hope that this review will be able to inform best practice in treatment and clinical research of these highly prevalent and burdensome disorders.Systematic review registrationPROSPEROCRD42019128535

Publication date: Available online 21 August 2019Source: Journal of Alloys and CompoundsAuthor(s): Dongqing Liu, Yimin Yin, Haifeng ChengAbstractTransient memristor is highly desirable for secure memory system and secure neuromorphic computing. Here, a transient memristor with the MgO thin film as resistive dielectric material and the Ni as electrode material is reported. The memristor shows reversible and nonvolatile bipolar resistive switching performance, narrow distribution of low resistance state (LRS) and high resistance state (HRS), uniform switching voltages and stable retention at room temperature. It is indicated...

What is a Co-Occuring disorder? The coexistence of both a mental health disorder and a substance abuse use disorder is referred to as a co-occurring disorder. Any combination of mental health and addiction can be referred to as having a co-occuring disorder. The combinations can be seemingly endless, and can even include more than one of either a mental disorder or an addiction. Combinations may include depression and alcoholism, anorexia and cocaine addiction, bipolar disorder and heroin addiction and the list goes on. Surprisingly, as many as 6 in 10 substance abusers also have at least one other mental disorder. There i...

We describe the effects of LDX (50mg and 70mg) on the Sheehan Disability Scale (SDS; exploratory endpoint) from both studies. Design: The SDS was assessed at baseline, Week 6, and Week 12/early termination. Analyses included mixed-effects models for repeated measures for the examination of SDS total and domain score changes and a generalized estimating equation model to assess dichotomized remission status (remission [total score ?6] versus nonremission [total score>6]). Results: Least squares (95% confidence interval [CI]) mean treatment differences for SDS total score change from baseline at Week 12 were -2.80 (-3.98,...

Conclusion: These results support the validity and reliability of the new tablet-based electronic Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale. This will allow the inclusion of the electronic Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale in a wider range of clinical studies, particularly where a tablet is also being used to collect other study data. Introduction Prospective assessment of suicidal ideation and behavior (SIB) is a critical step in many clinical trials. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) mandates prospective SIB in “all clinical trials involving any drug being developed for any psychiatric indicati...
