Colonoscopy is essential for the diagnosis of many diseases, such as colorectal cancer, colorectal polyps and ulcerative colitis. Nevertheless, for the severe pain caused by colonoscopy, this examination is poorly tolerated. For people who have a very limit tolerance to anesthesia, it is important to find a method to ease their pain. Previous research found that music can reduce anxiety and pain during colonoscopy. The present study aimed to clarify the mechanism.
