Tiger nut and walnut extracts modulate extracellular metabolism of ATP and adenosine through the NOS / cGMP / PKG signaling pathway in kidney slices

Conclusion Tiger nut and walnut extracts showed a protective effect on L-NAME induced kidney slices by reducing the activities of NTPDase (ATP as substrate) and adenosine deaminase, increased NO levels as well as prevent oxidative damage. The effect observed may be attributed to the phenolic compounds present in both nuts as depicted by HPLC finger printing. Graphical abstract
