Patent Ductus Arteriosus and Lung MRI Phenotype in Moderate and Severe Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia-Pulmonary Hypertension
CONCLUSIONS: In infants with moderate or severe BPD, prolonged exposure to hsPDA is associated with BPD severity, PH-PVD, and increased parenchymal lung disease by MRI.PMID:38568735 | DOI:10.1164/rccm.202310-1733OC (Source: American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine)

Postoperative Airway Management after Anterior Cervical Spine Surgery: Retrospective Neurosurgical Multicenter Study
Neurol Med Chir (Tokyo). 2024 Apr 4. doi: 10.2176/jns-nmc.2023-0283. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAirway complications that occur after anterior cervical spine surgery pose a life-threatening risk, which encompasses complications including prolonged intubation, unplanned reintubation, and/or necessity of tracheostomy. The present study aimed to identify the surgical risks associated with postoperative airway complications in neurosurgical training institutes. A retrospective, multicenter, observational review of data from 365 patients, who underwent anterior cervical spine surgery between 2018 and 2022, at three such inst...

Review of surgical treatment of suprastomal collapse in tracheostomised children
CONCLUSION: Dynamic airway endoscopy in spontaneous breathing followed by MLS in general anaesthesia should always be performed before decannulation. It is particularly important to visualise all segments of the airway during spontaneous breathing. The decision regarding the best surgical option for each child is based on the type and localisation of SSC, as well as on the patient's medical and surgical history and age.PMID:38568240 | DOI:10.1007/s00106-024-01448-5 (Source: HNO)
