< em > Astragalus membranaceus < /em > and < em > Cinnamomum cassia < /em > Stimulate the Hair Follicle Differentiation-Related Growth Factor by the Wnt/ β-Catenin Signaling Pathway
In conclusion, the YH complex consisting of A. membranaceus and C. cassia induced hair follicle differentiation and preserved the growing-anagen phase by increasing growth factors and the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, leading to the restoration of hair loss. The YH complex can be a remedy for hair loss diseases, such as alopecia areata, androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, and chemotherapy-induced alopecia.PMID:37998718 | PMC:PMC10670826 | DOI:10.3390/cimb45110541 (Source: Current Issues in Molecular Biology)

Morphologic Markers of Acute and Chronic Stress in Child Abuse
CONCLUSIONS: Pathologists are urged to explore these markers as supportive evidence in their own investigations of possible child abuse fatalities, especially when associated with stress.PMID:37979202 | DOI:10.1093/ajcp/aqab204 (Source: American Journal of Clinical Pathology)

The development of non-scarring alopecia in women who wear the hijab
This study included 125 patients who wore the hijab and 40 race/ethnicity-matched women who did not wear the hijab. Among the 165 total patients diagnosed between January 2015 and March 2022, 71 had telogen effluvium, 78 had female pattern hair loss, and 16 had traction alopecia. We found patients who wore the hijab had a younger mean age of alopecia onset than patients who did not wear the hijab (31.5 vs. 37.3  years;P = 0.02). Our study suggests that vitamin D deficiency (OR 4.1; 95% CI 1.2–14.1;P = 0.02) and seborrheic dermatitis (OR 2.9; 95% CI 1.1–8.1;P = 0.03) may significantly impact the development...

Telogen effluvium and COVID-19: a cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: In our study, the incidence of TE was highly related to COVID-19 infections among both sexes. However, the incidence was greater among the female population. The awareness level toward post-COVID-19 TE was poor among most of the participants in our study.PMID:37667959 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202308_33437 (Source: European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences)
