The value of circadian heart rate variability for the estimation of obstructive sleep apnea severity in adult males
CONCLUSIONS: Circadian HRV in patients with OSA emerged as low daytime and high nocturnal in SDNN, particularly in men with severe OSA. The heterogeneity of circadian HRV revealed that trajectories with low daytime and significantly high nighttime were more strongly associated with severe OSA. Thus, circadian HRV trajectories may be useful to identify the severity of OSA.PMID:38170376 | DOI:10.1007/s11325-023-02983-1 (Source: Sleep and Breathing)

The effectiveness of different surgical techniques in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. Clinical and polysomnographic outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: OSAS is a disease caused by multiple levels of obstruction. The results of this study show a small, statistically significant reduction in the AHI after combined oropharynx and tongue base surgery.KEY WORDS: Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy, Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndroma, Polysomnography.PMID:38131362 (Source: Annali Italiani di Chirurgia)

Association between alcohol use disorder and risk of obstructive sleep apnea
This study suggests an association between alcohol use disorders and the risk of OSA. The frequency of alcohol consumption, quantity of alcohol consumed, and snoring frequency were associated with the risk of OSA. Therefore, ceasing alcohol consumption is recommended as an effective approach to enhancing sleep quality.PMID:38112217 | DOI:10.1111/jsr.14128 (Source: Journal of Sleep Research)

Analysis of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in Craniofacial Microsomia Based on Polysomnography
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with CFM have a higher incidence of OSA based on PSG in type II and type III patients. The incidence of OSA did not correlate positively with the severity of CFM, with type III patients having certain particularities.PMID:38105178 | DOI:10.1177/10556656231221654 (Source: The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal)
