Snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, and upper respiratory tract infection in elementary school children in Japan
ConclusionsSnoring and severity of OSA as measured by nocturnal tracheal sound recordings were associated with increased susceptibility to URTI in elementary school children. (Source: Sleep and Breathing)

Polysomnographic Assessment on Osahs Outcomes in Patients with Nasal Obstruction Undergoing Septoplasty with Partial Inferior Turbinectomy
Conclusion: Isolated nasal surgery like septoplas ty and/or turbinate reduction improved sleep parameters and alleviated OSA symptoms in patients with static nasal obstruction and obstructive sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome. However, patients with multilevel or dynamic airway obstruction may need further intervention. (Source: Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery)

Risk Factors for Chronic and Recurrent Otitis Media in Children: A Review Article
AbstractOtitis media is an inflammation of the mucous membrane of the middle ear, which includes mastoid air cells, the middle ear cavity, the Eustachian tube, and the mastoid antrum. Otitis media can be either acute, less than six weeks, or chronic, which lasts for more than six weeks. Recurrent otitis media refers to three episodes of the disease occurring within six months or four episodes within one year. There are many risk factors for otitis media among children; however, some of such factors may vary based on the type of otitis media. To highlight the risk factors of chronic and recurrent otitis media in pediatrics....

Evaluation of clinical and genetic factors in obstructive sleep apnoea
CONCLUSIONS: No genetic variant tested showed a statistically significant association with OSA phenotype. Logistic regression analysis resulted in a predictive model for diagnosing OSA that, if validated by larger prospective studies, could be applied clinically to allow risk stratification for OSA.PMID:37814975 | DOI:10.14639/0392-100X-N2532 (Source: Acta Otorhinolaryngologica Italica)
