Which classes should I retake as someone who is building a strong upward trend right now?
I'm a junior right now and I wasn't premed until the past year so my gpa is not as competitive as the rest of y'all. So I'm grinding hard to make sure my last two years are a 4.0 or as close to that as possible. With that said, I've had to retake some classes, and currently, I have human phys and orgo 1 both at a B. Should I retake these two classes to get the A, or should I just completely ignore them and take separate science courses? I would like to apply in the 2026 matriculating cycle... Placing into upper div courses through self study?
I am 7 years out of an arts undergrad in which I took no hard science and had a fairly low gpa. As I require aid for any program that goes beyond 1 or 2 cheap courses, originally I was planning on starting pre-reqs at a local CC and then at some point either applying to the one or two Postbaccs that allow Grad PLUS or an SMP once I get some courses established and some EC experience. However, because I love self-studying so much and would prefer to accelerate the process of getting to the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Basic vs. clinical research
Hi, I am a medical student currently interested in either neurology or neurosurgery. I understand that research is very important for applying to neurosurgery. I have a background in basic neuroscience research from before I came to medical school, and I am now getting involved in clinical research. Is it suggested to pursue a balance of both clinical and basic science research, or does it matter? Is one more respected over another? I see lots of people saying to just do clinical research... Choosing Medical Assistant Position Field
Reapplicant here but posting in the premed forum for more views. Would a medical assistant position in optho mess up my narrative as I've been doing basic science research in another specialty for a few years? Also if I start in early April, will I have enough hours to send in my primary in June? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

High School Courses?
Hello, I am currently a student in high school preparing to enter a career in veterinary medicine. I am planning on taking a degree in animal science. I wondered what high school classes would be recommended to help boost my chances of acceptance. I have an overall average of 94% so grades aren't an issue, I just want to make sure that I take all of the recommended courses before graduation to make my transition as easy as possible. Thanks to everyone! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
