Constructing Solid Electrolyte Interphase for Aqueous Zinc Batteries
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2023 Aug 19:e202309957. doi: 10.1002/anie.202309957. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTProblems of zinc anode including dendrite and hydrogen evolution seriously degrade the performance of zinc batteries. Solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), which plays a key role in achieving high reversibility of lithium anode in aprotic organic solvent, is also beneficial to performance improvement of zinc anode in aqueous electrolyte. However, various studies about interphase for zinc electrode is quite fragmented, and lack of deep understanding on root causes or general design rules for SEI construction. And water m...

Clinical longevity of intracoronal restorations made of gold, lithium disilicate, leucite, and indirect resin composite: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsAccording to the currently available evidence, medium-quality data indicates that lithium disilicate and indirect composite materials demonstrate comparable survival rates in short-term follow-up. Furthermore, intracoronal gold restorations showed significantly higher survival rates, making them a preferred option over intracoronal indirect resin-composite restorations. Besides that, the analysis revealed no statistically significant difference in survival rates between leucite and indirect composite restorations. The short observation period, limited number of eligible articles, and low sample size of the inclu...

In-situ Observation of Evolving H2 and Solid Electrolyte Interphase Development at Potassium Insertion Materials within Highly Concentrated Aqueous Electrolytes
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2023 Aug 18:e202307446. doi: 10.1002/anie.202307446. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSolid-electrolyte interphases (SEI) are key to stable, high voltage lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) as a protective barrier that prevents electrolyte decomposition. SEI are thought to play a similar role in highly concentrated water-in-salt electrolytes (WISE) for emerging aqueous batteries, but their properties remain unknown. In this work, we utilized advanced scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) and operando electrochemical mass spectrometry (OEMS) techniques to gain deeper insight into the SEI that occur within...
