Coronary Revascularization in Chronic and End-Stage Renal Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on dialysis have an increased risk for cardiovascular mortality and morbidity secondary to occlusive coronary artery disease. Optimal revascularization strategy is unclear in this high-risk population. We have performed a meta-analysis to compare coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) versus percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with ESRD and CKD. Abstract AST-120 has been used widely in Japan to slow the deterioration of renal function in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) by decreasing uremic toxins. Clinical Benefit of Warfarin in Dialysis Patients With Atrial Fibrillation
Patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and end-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) receiving dialysis are at higher risk of stroke (1). Warfarin has been shown to reduce the frequency of strokes by 64.0% in patients with AF; however, its use in dialysis patients has not received consensus owing to the lack of randomized controlled trial data and associated increased bleeding risk.

Revascularization in Patients With Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease Everolimus-Eluting Stents Versus Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
ConclusionsIn patients with CKD, CABG is associated with higher short-term risk of death, stroke, and repeat revascularization, whereas PCI with everolimus-eluting stents is associated with a higher long-term risk of repeat revascularization and perhaps MI, with no long-term mortality difference. ConclusionsThe incidence of CIN is low when MMCT is used routinely to assess acute stroke patients. In this population, CIN was a biochemical phenomenon that did not have clinical manifestations, cause chronic kidney disease, require dialysis, or negatively impact on 90‐day mRS outcomes. Renal profiling and waiting for a baseline serum‐creatinine are an unnecessary delay to emergency reperfusion treatment.
