Mo1090 DIRECT-ACTING ORAL ANTICOAGULANT (DOAC) USE IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH INCREASED RISK OF COMPLICATIONS AFTER POLYPECTOMY
Direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs) such as rivaroxaban, apixaban, dabigatran, and edoxaban represent 62% of new anticoagulation prescriptions. Compared to warfarin, DOACs increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding but reduce the risk of stroke. Little is known about the risk of complications after polypectomy in patients with active DOAC use. We aimed to determine the risk of complications after polypectomy in this population.

Preventive Effects of Transcutaneous Electrical Acustimulation on Ischemic Stroke-Induced Constipation Mediated via the Autonomic Pathway.
CONCLUSION: Ischemic stroke patients are predisposed to autonomic function imbalance. TEA was effective in the prevention of stroke-induced constipation, and the effect was possibly mediated via the autonomic function. PMID: 29746169 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Changes in Hepatic Blood Flow and Liver Function during Closed Abdominal Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy following Cytoreduction Surgery.
Conclusion: Despite optimizing intravenous fluids during closed abdominal HIPEC, we observed a marked decrease in HBF and liver function. Both effects were transient and limited to the period of HIPEC but could influence the choice between closed or open abdominal cavity procedure for HIPEC and should be considered in similar clinical situations of increased IAP. Postprandial hypotension in older survivors of critical illness
Conclusions In this cohort of older survivors of ICU postprandial hypotension occurred frequently . This suggests that postprandial hypotension is an unrecognised issue in older ICU survivors.

Mylohyoid motor evoked potentials can effectively predict persistent dysphagia 3  months poststroke
Conclusions and InferencesMH‐MEP was well‐correlated with dysphagia severity assessed by VFSS. The rMT ratio and amplitude ratio of MH‐MEP can effectively predict persistent dysphagia 3 months poststroke. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between MH‐MEP and swallowing function and determine the value of MH‐MEP for predicting aspiration three months post‐stroke. MH‐MEP was well correlated with dysphagia severity assessed by VFSS. The MH‐MEP can effectively predict persistent dysphagia 3 months post‐stroke.

Ischemic stroke in liver cirrhosis: epidemiology, risk factors, and in-hospital outcomes
Conclusion Ischemic stroke was often observed in patients with cirrhosis, and it significantly increased the in-hospital mortality. The association of inflammation, coagulation disorders, and viral hepatitis with development of ischemic stroke in liver cirrhosis should be further evaluated in prospective cohort studies.
