Feasibility of endoscopic endonasal approach for clip application of cerebral aneurysms: a systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: Despite a moderate increase in utilization, caution should be exercised when choosing an endonasal strategy for treatment of aneurysmal pathology over more traditional and established methods such as microsurgical clip application and endovascular methods. Anecdotal evidence suggests that inferior and/or medial projecting aneurysms involving the paraclinoid ICA not amenable to traditional open/endovascular strategies may be reasonable to consider for EEA clip application. Unruptured aneurysms in the elderly: perioperative outcomes and cost analysis of endovascular coiling and surgical clipping.
CONCLUSIONS Intervention with CAC and CACo in the elderly is resource intensive and is associated with higher risk than in the nonelderly. Those deciding between intervention and conservative management should consider these risks and costs, especially the 2.2% postoperative mortality rate associated with CAC in the elderly population. Coil Embolization through Collateral Pathway for Ruptured Vertebral Artery Dissecting Aneurysm with Bilateral Vertebral Artery Occlusion
Intracranial vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm (VADA) is a well-known cause of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Endovascular treatment is now well established as an effective method for treating ruptured VADA, especially in the acute phase of SAH.1,2 Although stent technology has introduced a new strategy in the treatment of VADA, internal trapping of both the affected vertebral artery (VA) and the VADA using detachable coils is still the standard endovascular treatment for the acute phase of ruptured VADAs to prevent re-rupture.

Endovascular Retrieval of Migrated Coil within the Distal Middle Cerebral Artery Using Stentriever Device
We present a case of a balloon-assisted coil embolization of a communicating segment internal carotid artery aneurysm, complicated by coil migration far distally into the middle cerebral artery, which was successfully retrieved using a stentriever.

Endovascular coiling versus neurosurgical clipping for people with aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage.
CONCLUSIONS: The evidence in this systematic review comes mainly from one large trial, and long-term follow-up is available only for a subgroup of participants within that trial. For people in good clinical condition with ruptured aneurysms of either the anterior or posterior circulation the data from randomised trials show that, if the aneurysm is considered suitable for both neurosurgical clipping and endovascular coiling, coiling is associated with a better outcome. Effect of actual age on outcome at discharge in patients by surgical clipping and endovascular coiling for ruptured cerebral aneurysm in Japan
In conclusion, the cutoff age for poor m RS score>  2 was 3 to 9 years older for EC than for SC. Actual age was one of the indications for elderly patients to achieve the optimum outcome; however, the treatment indication should be carefully considered based on the condition in each country.

Early serum miR-1297 is an indicator of poor neurological outcome in patients with aSAH.

Endovascular Treatment of Ruptured Tiny Intracranial Aneurysms with Low-Profile Visualized Intraluminal Support Device
Background: Ruptured tiny intracranial aneurysms (TIAs) have been challenging both for endovascular and neurosurgical interventions. Thus, we aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of low-profile visualized intraluminal support (LVIS) device in the treatment of ruptured TIAs (rTIAs). Material and Methods: Among 761 intracranial aneurysms which were treated either surgically or endovascularly, 32 rTIAs underwent stent-assisted coiling with LVIS device between 2014 and 2017. Trends in the Incidence and Treatment of Cerebrovascular Diseases in Korea : Part I. Intracranial Aneurysm, Intracerebral Hemorrhage, and Arteriovenous Malformation.
Conclusion: In Korea, age-related cerebral vascular diseases, such as RIA, ICH, and RAVM, demonstrated a declining trend in agestandardized incidence; meanwhile, UIA and UAVM demonstrated an increased trend in both crude incidence and age-standardized incidence for 9 years. The increase in the elderly population, management of hypertension, and development of diagnostic and endovascular techniques appear to have influenced this trend. Decreased Antiatherogenic Protein Levels are Associated with Aneurysm Structure Alterations in MR Vessel Wall Imaging
Objective: Thickened intracranial aneurysm wall with atherosclerotic remodeling is a part of its degenerative scenario. Current magnetic resonance (MR)-vessel wall imaging enables the detection of atherosclerotic wall thickening as aneurysm wall enhancement. The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between identified atherosclerotic remodeling in vessel wall imaging, and systemic atherosclerosis-related risk factors. Methods: A total of 39 aneurysms in 38 consecutive patients scheduled to undergo microsurgical clipping or endovascular coiling of intracranial aneurysms were prospectively evaluated.

Endovascular Treatments Performed Collaboratively by the Society of Korean Endovascular Neurosurgeons Members : A Nationwide Multicenter Survey.
Conclusion: The SKEN members have been responsible for the major role of endovascular treatments in South Korea for the recent 5 years. This was achieved through the perseverance of senior members who started out in the midst of hardship, the establishment of standards for the training/certification of endovascular neurosurgery, and the enthusiasm of current SKEN members who followed.
