Development of a new body weight estimation method using head CT scout images
CONCLUSIONS: The presented new method is a potentially valuable support tool for medical staff, such as doctors and nurses, in estimating weight during emergency examinations for patients with acute conditions such as stroke when obtaining accurate weight measurements is not easily feasible.PMID:37545250 | DOI:10.3233/XST-230087

Improvement of diagnostic performance of hyperacute ischemic stroke in head CT using an image-based noise reduction technique with non-black-boxed process
To date, a variety of image-based noise reduction (INR) techniques for computed tomography (CT) have been reported. They are based on iterative processes or deep learning techniques. Some INR products using iterative processes are already commercially available and have been reported to exhibit noise reduction performance better than hybrid-type iterative reconstruction (HIR) in abdominal CT [1,2]. However, the details of the processes inside these commercial INR systems are usually proprietary and cannot be readily replicated outside.

Low (0 –5) Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score on admission predictive of worse functional outcome after mechanical thrombectomy for anterior circulation large vessel occlusion
ConclusionsASPECTS values ≤ 5 correspond with worse long-term functional improvement (mRS scores > 2) in patients undergoing MT for ACLVO-related AIS. Other independent determinants of functional outcomes after MT are age, baseline NIHSS score, HbA1c concentration, and successful recanalization.

Inflammation and immunomodulatory therapies influence the relationship between ATP-binding cassette A1 membrane transporter-mediated cholesterol efflux capacity and coronary atherosclerosis in rheumatoid arthritis
CONCLUSION: ABCA1-CEC associated with decreased atherosclerosis in patients with below-median baseline and time-averaged CRP and bDMARD use. Conversely, ABCA1-CEC associated with increased plaque in those with higher CRP, corticosteroid users, methotrexate nonusers, and bDMARD nonusers. Low-dose intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator in acute ischemic stroke without large vessel occlusion screened by 3T MRI
