Transapical Transcatheter Mitral Valve Implantation with the Tendyne Valve: The Swiss Experience
CONCLUSION: Transcatheter mitral valve implantation with Tendyne is feasible to treat polymorbid patients suffering from complex mitral valve disease as well as patients with previous mitral interventions. Perioperative risk was acceptable and procedural success high.PMID:37327913 | DOI:10.1055/s-0043-1769099

Tmax profile in computed tomography perfusion-based RAPID software maps influences outcome after mechanical thrombectomy in patients with basilar artery occlusion
Conclusions Perfusion deficit volume in Tmax >6 s on CTP-RAPID imaging maps and basilar artery on CTA score have potential as functional outcome predictors in patients with BAO after EVT.

Computed tomography angiography-based radiomics model for predicting carotid atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability
This study aimed to identify radiomic features associated with the neovascularization of CAP and construct a prediction model for CAP vulnerability based on radiomic features. CTA data and clinical data of patients with CAPs who underwent CTA and CEUS between January 2018 and December 2021 in Beijing Hospital were retrospectively collected. The data were divided into a training cohort and a testing cohort using a 7:3 split. According to the examination of CEUS, CAPs were dichotomized into vulnerable and stable groups. 3D Slicer software was used to delineate the region of interest in CTA images, and the Pyradiomics package...

Neutrophil percentage to albumin ratio is associated with stroke-associated pneumonia and poor outcome in patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage
ConclusionHigher NPAR is independently associated with SAP and poor functional outcome in patients with ICH. Our findings suggest that early prediction of SAP is feasible by using a simple biomarker NPAR.

Incidental Finding of Arteria Lusoria in COVID-19 Patient with Aortic Thrombus Complicated by Recurrent Limb Ischemia
We report the case of a 64-year-old woman with recent severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 pneumonia who was admitted to the hospital due to a giant floating thrombus in the ascending aorta with multiple ischemic events. Aortic computed tomography angiogram revealed an aberrant right subclavian artery associated with bicarotid trunk that might have protected carotid arteries from embol migration. Thrombosis is a rare clinical presentation in coronavirus disease 2019 infection but with serious complications that must be kept in mind to detect and avoid morbidities like ischemic stroke. Intra-and peritumoral hemorrhage in the meningioma of a nonagenarian due to administration of direct oral anticoagulants after mechanical thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: Peritumoral edema representing a pial blood supply might be a significant factor associated with intracranial hemorrhage due to DOAC administration in patients with meningioma. The evaluation of hemorrhagic risk due to DOACs is important not only for meningioma but also for other brain tumor cases.PMID:37292413 | PMC:PMC10246366 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_18_2023
