CHADS2 and CHA2DS2-VASc Scores for Prediction of Immediate and Late Stroke after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
Conclusions: A significant number of patients may suffer stroke late after CABG, and patients with a high risk of stroke can be identified by CHADS2 and CHA2DS2-VASc scores independently from the presence of pre- or postoperative atrial fibrillation.

Incidence, Trends, and Predictors of Ischemic Stroke 30 Days After an Acute Myocardial Infarction Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— The incidence of ischemic stroke within 30 days of an AMI has decreased during the period 1998 to 2008. This decrease is associated with increased use of acetylsalicylic acid, P2Y12 inhibitors, statins, and percutaneous coronary intervention.

Stroke in Patients With Aortic Stenosis: The Simvastatin and Ezetimibe in Aortic Stenosis Study Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— In patients with aortic stenosis not prescribed oral anticoagulation, atrial fibrillation, AVR with concomitant coronary artery bypass grafting, and CHA2DS2-VASc score were the major predictors of stroke. Mechanisms of early and delayed stroke after systematic off-pump coronary artery bypass.
CONCLUSION: The incidence of stroke after systematic OPCAB was low. Early and delayed strokes were equally distributed. Stroke mechanisms were predominantly embolic. Early and delayed stroke differed in their mechanisms. Use of CHA2DS2-VASc score to predict the risk of ischemic stroke and mortality in patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting surgery: a retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Ischemic stroke was associated with a higher mortality risk after CABG. Higher CHA2DS2-VASc scores were associated with higher ischemic stroke risk. POAF did not significantly affect the relationship between CHA2DS2-VASc scores and ischemic stroke.
