A Qualitative Inquiry Into Patient Reported Factors That Influence Time From Stroke Symptom Onset to Hospitalization
CONCLUSION: Response to stroke onset may be driven by perceptions of symptom severity and emotional response rather than the ability to correctly identify symptoms. Stroke education should include the information that new stroke symptoms may be different from the old ones because different parts of the brain may be affected.

Hyaluronidase inhibition accelerates functional recovery from stroke in the mouse brain
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the main component of the brain extracellular matrix (ECM). During stroke, a massive breakdown of HA occurs (including perineuronal net ‐associated HA), however, the mechanism of this phenomenon remains unclear. We hypothesized that stroke up‐regulates the expression of HA metabolism‐associated enzymes and increases HA synthesis/degradation. The Cortical Response Evoked by Robotic Wrist Perturbations Reflects Level of Proprioceptive Impairment After Stroke
Conclusion: The SNR of the evoked cortical response does not significantly change as a function of time after stroke and differs between patients with clinically assessed impaired and unimpaired proprioception, suggesting that SNR reflects persistent damage to proprioceptive pathways. A similar predictive value with respect to EmNSA-UE suggests that SNR may be used as an objective predictor next to clinical sensory assessments for predicting motor function at 26 weeks after stroke.

CONCLUSION: Unmet needs identified by SSs and CGs were used to extend NTCM specific to the stroke population and to develop the Recommendations and Exemplars for Stroke Specific Comprehensive Transitional Care Delivery (see Supplementary Digital Content, available at http://links.lww.com/JNN/A385). Researchers and practitioners can use the findings to develop and deliver more comprehensive TC to SSs and CGs.

Too Much and Too Little: Antidepressant Treatment in Stroke Survivors during the First Year
CONCLUSIONS: Depression occurred in one in three stroke survivors. Among these, only one in two received ADT, irrespective of PSD severity after discharge. In contrast, one in eight stroke survivors without depressive disorder received ADT, about half of them in the absence of earlier PSD. In conclusion, we found evidence of both under- and overtreatment of PSD with ADT, which emphasizes the need for a more stringent implementation of current PSD guideline recommendations.PMID:35864760 | DOI:10.31083/j.jin2104108
