Reversible supraventricular tachycardia and left bundle branch block in a marathon runner with exertional heat stroke in the Po Valley
We report the case of a 52-year-old marathon runner admitted to our emergency department for exertional heat stroke (EHS). The electrocardiogram (ECG) showed a supraventricular tachycardia, probably an atrial flutter with 2:1 block, conducted with left bundle branch block. After 10 minutes of aggressive fluid management and rapid external cooling, the ECG returned to normal. As the high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I was elevated, coronary angiography and an electrophysiological study were performed, revealing normal coronary arteries and excluding inducible arrhythmias. As reported in the current literature, our findings ...

Fractional Flow Reserve-Guided PCI or Coronary Bypass Surgery for 3-Vessel Coronary Artery Disease: 3-Year Follow-Up of the FAME 3 Trial
CONCLUSIONS: At 3-year follow-up, there was no difference in the incidence of the composite of death, MI, or stroke after FFR-guided PCI with current-generation drug-eluting stents compared with CABG. There was a higher incidence of MI after PCI compared with CABG, with no difference in death or stroke. These results provide contemporary data to allow improved shared decision-making between physicians and patients with 3-vessel coronary artery disease.REGISTRATION: URL: https://www.CLINICALTRIALS: gov; Unique identifier: NCT02100722.PMID:37602376 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.123.065770

O05/57 Validation of a novel multiphase CTA perfusion tool compared to CTP in patients with suspected acute ischemic stroke
Conclusion mCTAp shows similar performance compared to CTP in assisting readers to detect ischemia and its side/location, requiring less radiation exposure, acquisition time and contrast-dose compared to additional-CTP, but mainly as it relates to proximal vessel occlusions.Disclosure of InterestDr. Menon holds patents on systems of triage in acute stroke, for LVO detection and for mCTAp, and stock ownership in Circle Cardiovascular Inc. Dr. Bala has nothing to declare. Dr. Duszynski is an employee of, and holds stock options for Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc. Dr. Nayem Pinky, Dr. Golan and Luis A Souto Maior Neto are ...

O06/60 Diagnosis of intracranial atherosclerosis related large vessel occlusion before endovascular treatment
ConclusionA combination of clinical and radiological variables available before EVT can accurately predict the presence of an ICAD-LVO. The ICAD-Scale could be useful to perform a rapid assessment of underlying etiology and suggest specific pathophysiology-based measures (adjunctive pharmacological treatment, angioplasty and/or intracranial stenting).Disclosure of InterestDr Molina reported receiving personal fees from AstraZeneca for consultant services outside the submitted work. Dr Tomasello reported receiving personal fees from Anaconda Biomed, Balt, Medtronic, Perflow, and Stryker outside the submitted work. Dr Ribo r...
