Stroke Care in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College during the COVID-19 Outbreak
Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has become a pandemic disease globally. The First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College has adopted telestroke to make stroke care accessible in remote areas. During the period January 2020 to March 2020, there was no COVID-19 case reported in our stroke center. A Sharp Decline in Burden of Stroke in Rural China During COVID-19 Pandemic
This study aimed to explore trends in the burden from stroke associated with home quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic. Patients with a first-ever stroke registered between January 1 and April 20 from 2010 to 2020 were included in this study. We compared the incidence and the rates of mortality, hospitalization, and diagnosis by neuroimaging for first-ever stroke among a low-income population in rural China during the study periods. A Virtual, Randomized, Control Trial of a Digital Therapeutic for Speech, Language, and Cognitive Intervention in Post-stroke Persons With Aphasia

Conclusions: The current study revealed two themes with respective subthemes that were identified, namely, self-seeking for information and reasons for using a stroke mobile application in the future. This application helps in reducing healthcare costs, enhancing the rehabilitation process, facilitating patient engagement in decision making, and the continuous monitoring of patient health.

Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on prehospital emergency care for adults with stroke and transient ischaemic attack: A systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsOur review indicates that prehospital delays for suspected stroke/TIA increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, emergency call volume for suspected stroke/TIA decreased during this period.
