P-001 Non-contrast CT alone versus combined CT plus CTA or MRA selection for thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke: analysis of the angel-act registry
DiscussionIn patients selected for MT using non-contrast CT alone versus CT combined with CTA/MRA, we found improved procedural outcomes (shorten door-to-reperfusion time) and similar clinical outcomes and safety profiles. Our real-world findings indicate MT can be safely and effectively performed in hospitals lacking 24/7 access to immediate CTA or MRA. The beneficial effect of using non-contrast CT-only may be present in patients with ultra-early symptoms to ED arrival (within the first hour) and should be further evaluated.Disclosures G. Ma: None. Evaluation of a package of risk-based pharmaceutical and lifestyle interventions in patients with hypertension and/or diabetes in rural China: A pragmatic cluster randomised controlled trial
by Xiaolin Wei, Zhitong Zhang, Marc K. C. Chong, Joseph P. Hicks, Weiwei Gong, Guanyang Zou, Jieming Zhong, John D. Walley, Ross E. G. Upshur, Min Yu BackgroundPrimary prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) requires adequate control of hypertension and diabetes. We designed and implemented pharmaceutical and healthy lifestyle interventions for patients with diabetes and/or hypertension in rural primary care, and assessed their effectiveness at reducing severe CVD events. Methods and findingsWe used a pragmatic, parallel group, 2-arm, controlled, superiority, cluster trial design. We randomised 67 township hospitals in ...

Study on optimization and evaluation system of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation program for swallowing disorder after stroke
This article presents a study protocol for a multicenter, randomized, controlled trial for evaluating the efficacy of acupuncture in treating post-stroke dysphagia. Methods/design: A randomized controlled trial will be conducted in three hospitals in Heilongjiang, Changchun, and Beijing. A total of 252 patients with post-stroke swallowing ability will be randomly divided into two groups; specifically, the experimental group, which will receive acupuncture treatment, and the control group, which will undergo rehabilitation training for 2 weeks. The main results will be evaluated using the standard swallowing function...

Bridging Therapy for Acute Stroke as the Initial Manifestation of Takayasu Arteritis: A Case Report and Review of Literature
We report a rare case of a patient with TA initially presenting with AIS treated with bridging therapy with full recovery of neurological function. Bridging therapy should be taken into consideration for AIS in patients with TA. Further study is needed in this regard.

Analysis of individualized antiplatelet therapy for patients of acute coronary syndrome after percutaneous coronary intervention under the guidance of platelet function: A one-center retrospective cohort study
There is controversy in clinical application of antiplatelet drugs by monitoring platelet function. Therefore, we explored whether early and dynamic medication could bring better clinical outcomes for patients under the guidance of platelet function tests (PFT). In this retrospective cohort study, we analyzed the prognostic events of 1550 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) at Tianjin People's Hospital in China. They received dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from January 2017 to December 2018. The primary endpoint was based on the Bleeding Academic Research Consorti...

Outcomes of Ischemic Stroke and Associated Factors Among Elderly Patients With Large-Artery Atherosclerosis: A Hospital-Based Follow-Up Study in China
Large-artery atherosclerotic (LAA) stroke is the most common subtype of ischemic stroke. However, risk factors for long-term outcomes of LAA stroke in the elderly Chinese population have not been well-described. Therefore, we aimed to assess outcomes and risk factors at 3, 12, and 36 months after LAA stroke onset among stroke patients aged 60 years and older. All consecutive LAA patients aged ≥ 60 years were prospectively recruited from Dongying People's Hospital between January 2016 and December 2018. The clinical features and outcome data at 3, 12, and 36 months after stroke were collected. Differences in outcomes and ...

Efficacy and Safety of Bivalirudin During Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Chronic Total Occlusion: A Retrospective Study
The objective of this study was to examine the efficacy and safety of bivalirudin during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with CTO.METHODS: This trial used a retrospective cohort study design. Medical information from 736 patients with CTO who underwent PCI with bivalirudin or UFH at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2019 to September 2020 was extracted and analyzed. The primary end point was the 30-day incidence of net adverse clinical events (NACEs), and the secondary end point was the major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs), which were related to safety and efficacy,...

Risk factors for and impact of poststroke pneumonia in patients with acute ischemic stroke
Poststroke pneumonia (PSP) is a common complication of stroke and an important cause of death following stroke. However, the treatment of PSP remains inadequate due to severe impairment to the respiratory system by PSP. Thus, it is crucial to focus on preventing PSP to improve the prognosis of patients with stroke. This prospective single-center Cohort study aimed to investigate the risk factors for pulmonary infection following an ischemic stroke and identify whether PSP significantly influences the prognosis of patients after stroke. Altogether, 451 patients who were treated for acute ischemic stroke in the First A...

Verification and comparison of three prediction models of ischemic stroke in young adults based on the back propagation neural networks
This work aims to explore risk factors for ischemic stroke in young adults and analyze the Traditional Vascular Risk Factors Model based on age, hypertension, diabetes, smoking history, and drinking history. Further, the Lipid Metabolism Model was analyzed based on lipoprotein a [LP (a)], high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), apolipoprotein AI (apo AI), apolipoprotein B (apo B), and the Early Renal Injury Model based on urinary microalbuminuria/creatinine ratio (UACR). Besides, we estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), cystatin C (Cys-C), homocysteine (Hcy), β2 microglobulin (β2m), and vali...
