Safety of urgent endarterectomy in acute non ‐disabling stroke patients with symptomatic carotid artery stenosis: an international multicenter study
ConclusionsOur findings highlight that urgent CEA performed within two days from the index event is related to a non ‐significant increase in the risk of peri‐procedural stroke. The safety of urgent CEA requires further evaluation in larger datasets. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Association of Serum Galectin ‐3 with Risks of Death and Vascular Events in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients: the Role of Hyperglycemia
ConclusionIncreased galectin ‐3 was associated with the primary outcome, stroke recurrence and vascular events within one‐year after stroke in the patients with hyperglycemia, suggesting that galectin‐3 may be an important prognostic factor for ischemic stroke patients with hyperglycemia. This article is protected by copyright. Sapienza GLObal Bedside Evaluation of Swallowing after Stroke The GLOBE ‐3S study
ConclusionGLOBE ‐3S is quick to perform at bedside and can accurately identify aspiration in acute stroke patients. By including the measurement of laryngeal elevation and the monitoring of oxygen desaturation, it could represent a highly sensitive instrument to avoid the misdiagnosis of silent aspirators. This article is protected by copyright. Executive function subdomains are associated with poststroke functional outcome and permanent institutionalization
ConclusionsEF was strongly associated with poststroke functional impairment. In follow ‐up, poor inhibition was related to earlier permanent institutionalization. Results suggest the prognostic value of EFs subdomains after stroke. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
