A direct aspiration first pass technique for acute stroke therapy: a systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsADAPT therapy is associated with similar reperfusion rates, clinical outcomes and complication rates compared with thrombectomy with stent retrievers. However, the major limitations of current evidence (i.e. retrospective studies and selection bias) indicate a need for adequately powered, multicenter randomized controlled trials to determine the best strategy.

Insular Damage, New Onset Atrial Fibrillation, and Outcome after Acute Intracerebral Hemorrhage
ConclusionThe frequency of nAF in our patients was 6.0%. Insular damage was a risk factor for nAF and an independent predictor of death at 3 months. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Translesional pressure gradient and leptomeningeal collateral status in symptomatic middle cerebral artery stenosis
ConclusionsOur study suggested a correlation between translesional pressure gradient and maturation of leptomeningeal collaterals in intracranial atherosclerotic disease. Further studies with more exquisite and dynamic monitoring of cerebral hemodynamics and LMC evolution are needed to verify the current findings. This article is protected by copyright. Morphological changes of the internal carotid artery: prevalence and characteristics. A clinical and ultrasonographic study in a series of 19 804 patients over 25 years old
ConclusionMorphological changes of the internal carotid arteries were associated with aging, female gender and patients with hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes and heart disease. Kinking was associated with ipsilateral cerebral ischemia.

More extensive white matter hyperintensity is linked with higher risk of remote intracerebral hemorrhage after intravenous thrombolysis
ConclusionAn increased occurrence rate of rICH after IVT is related to more extensive WMH, which may suggest the underlying whole‐brain vascular injury in patients with WMH.This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Predictors of Symptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage in Off ‐label Thrombolysis: an Analysis of the SITS registry
ConclusionsThrombolysis appears to be safe regarding symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage for most of the off‐label criteria, especially for minor stroke, but is risky in patients with high blood pressure. Individual risk‐benefit evaluation should be performed. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Distinct predictive role of collateral status on clinical outcome in variant stroke subtypes of acute large arterial occlusion
ConclusionsBased on 4D‐CTA, sustained good leptomeningeal collaterals may predict good outcome in CE but not in LAA patients. Moreover, the extent of collaterals was associated with OIT in CE, that indicates prompt reperfusion therapy in this group of patients. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
