Impact of thrombolysis in acute ischaemic stroke without occlusion: an observational comparative study
ConclusionsOur study suggests that AIS patients without visible arterial occlusion treated with IV‐rtPA may have no better outcome at 3 months than those untreated. However, only a randomized controlled trial would provide a definitive answer about the impact of rtPA in acute stroke patients without occlusion. Until then, these patients should be treated by rtPA as recommended.

Fitness‐to‐drive agreements after stroke: medical versus practical recommendations
ConclusionsAlthough there was a moderate agreement between the medical and practical fitness‐to‐drive recommendations, physicians were less likely to screen out those patients who may pose an actual risk on the road. Demographic, clinical and driving factors differently affected the medical and practical fitness‐to‐drive recommendations.

Telemedicine for the acute management of stroke in Burgundy, France: an evaluation of effectiveness and safety
ConclusionThe implementation of a regional telemedicine network for the management of acute ischemic stroke appeared to be effective and safe. Thanks to this network, the proportion of patients who benefit from thrombolysis will increase. Further research is needed to evaluate economic benefits.

The syndrome of transient headache and neurological deficits with cerebrospinal fluid lymphocytosis mimicking an acute stroke
ConclusionsThe decision to thrombolyse or perform an LP in HaNDL patients mimicking a stroke is difficult in the acute setting. Perfusion CT can provide misleading results and CTA may be useful in ruling out occlusion of a cerebral vessel.

Long‐term depressive symptoms and anxiety after transient ischaemic attack or ischaemic stroke in young adults
ConclusionEven a decade after stroke at young age, depressive symptoms and anxiety were prevalent and associated with poor functional outcome. Therefore, even in the long term, treating physicians should be aware of the long‐term presence of these symptoms as their recognition may be the first step in improving long‐term functional independence.

Plasma uric acid concentrations and risk of ischaemic stroke in women
ConclusionsPlasma uric acid levels were not independently associated with increased risk of ischaemic stroke in this cohort of women. Whilst plasma uric acid was associated with stroke risk factors, it was not independently associated with stroke risk.
