Variability of Stroke Patients Meeting Endovascular Stroke Trial Criteria in a Non-Clinical Trial Setting
Conclusions The proportion of patients with acute stroke and large vessel occlusion presenting within eight hours that would meet radiological criteria for endovascular stroke trials varies considerably (62-100%) in a cohort outside of clinical trials from an academic comprehensive stroke center. Thus, the radiological criteria used for candidate selection in daily practice will greatly influence the proportion of patients treated with endovascular therapy.

Mechanical thrombectomy: Determining the proportion of eligible acute ischemic stroke patients in the cohort of single academic stroke center.
CONCLUSION: Among AIS patients, in whom onset-to-arrival time allowed to initiate the endovascular procedure within 6h of symptom duration, 21% were eligible for MT treatment according to more and 33% to less restrictive criteria. The Yellow Scale Is Superior to the Gray Scale for Detecting Acute Ischemic Stroke on a Monitor Display in Computed Tomography
Conclusions The detection of acute ischemic stroke is improved by changing the display monitor from the gray scale to the yellow scale. From the perspective of color psychology, yellow is associated with higher arousal, cheerfulness, confidence, creativity, and excitement. Therefore, the yellow scale may be suitable for a medical imaging display.

The Role of Apathy and Depression on Verbal Learning and Memory Performance After Stroke.
Conclusions: These results suggest that apathy, not depression, is related to verbal memory performance in stroke patients. Future research should explore whether treatment of apathy (e.g., improving motivation) could be a novel target for improving cognition after stroke. Researchers should also examine whether this model can be applied to other aspects of cognition, including executive function and other areas of memory including autobiographical and working memory. Reducing Hypertension in a Post-Stroke Black and Hispanic Homecare Population: Results of a Pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trial.
CONCLUSION: The significant across-the-board SBP decreases suggest that UHC nurse/patient/physician interactions were the central component of SBP reduction and that additional efforts to lower recurrent stroke risk should test incremental improvements in usual care, not resource-intensive transitional care interventions. They also suggest the potential value of pragmatic homecare programs as part of a broader strategy to overcome HTN treatment barriers and improve secondary stroke prevention globally. Epileptic activity in neurological deterioration after ischemic stroke, a continuous EEG study.
CONCLUSIONS: Non-convulsive seizures /non-convulsive status epilepticus /periodic discharges are associated to neurological deterioration after ischemic stroke. SIGNIFICANCE: Treatment of Non-convulsive seizures /non-convulsive status epilepticus and periodic discharges, if such patterns are detected, could help prevent adverse metabolic consequences of epileptic activities on ischemic brain tissue.
