Apixaban and rivaroxaban use for atrial fibrillation in patients with obesity and BMI ≥50 kg/m2
ConclusionsThis study demonstrated that apixaban and rivaroxaban in patients with a BMI ≥50 kg/m2 for treatment of NVAF may be safe and effective at preventing thromboembolic events and had no increased risk of bleeding. Although, findings should be interpreted with caution and confirmed with additional studies. This study contributes to the growing body of evidence that direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) may be effective and safe to use for the treatment of NVAF in patients with BMI ≥50 kg/m2.

Hand Motion Analysis Illustrates Differences When Drilling Cadaveric and Printed Temporal Bone
CONCLUSIONS: Significant differences in hand motions were present between simulations, however the significance is unclear. This may indicate that printed bone is not best positioned to be the principal training schema.PMID:34872376 | DOI:10.1177/00034894211059310

Endovascular versus open surgical repair for complicated chronic Type B aortic dissection
CONCLUSIONS: Due to lack of RCTs or CCTs investigating the effectiveness and safety of TEVAR compared to OSR for patients with complicated CBAD, we are unable to provide any evidence to inform decision-making on the optimal intervention for these patients. High-quality RCTs or CCTs addressing this objective are necessary. However, conducting such studies will be challenging for this life-threatening disease.PMID:34905228 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD012992.pub2

Disparities in Emergency Medical Services Care Delivery in the United States: A Scoping Review
CONCLUSIONS: Existing research highlights health disparities in EMS care delivery throughout multiple health outcomes and phases of EMS care. Future research is needed to identify structured mechanisms to eliminate disparities, address clinician bias, and provide high-quality equitable care for all patient populations.PMID:36369725 | DOI:10.1080/10903127.2022.2142344
