Development and Validation of a Nomogram to Predict the Individual Future Stroke Risk for Adult Patients With Moyamoya Disease: A Multicenter Retrospective Cohort Study in China
Conclusions: We developed a novel nomogram incorporating several clinical characteristics with relatively good accuracy, which may have considerable potential for evaluating individual future stroke risk and providing useful management recommendations for adult patients with MMD in clinical practice.

An Analysis of the Potential Relationship of Triglyceride Glucose and Body Mass Index With Stroke Prognosis
Conclusion: Overweight/obese patients with ischemic stroke have better survival than patients with low/normal weight. The association of BMI and stroke outcome is not changed by TYG index.

Relationship Between Glycosylated Hemoglobin and Short-Term Mortality of Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage
Conclusions: Therefore, we concluded that low or extremely low HbA1c levels (≤5.10%) after stroke were associated with higher short-term mortality in SICH patients, with or without DM.

Elevated triglyceride-glucose index predicts risk of incident ischaemic stroke: The Rural Chinese Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: Elevated TyG index is an independent predictor of ischaemic stroke in the general population, and insulin resistance may be positively associated with future stroke risk.PMID:33722769 | DOI:10.1016/j.diabet.2021.101246

Prediabetes and long ‐term outcomes in patients with three‐vessel coronary artery disease: A large single‐center cohort study
ConclusionsIn the context of three ‐vessel disease, prediabetes patients have comparable long‐term outcomes in terms of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events, cardiac death and all‐cause death to those with NG. Routine screening of glycemic metabolism based on hemoglobin A1c and fasting plasma glucose might be valuable to identify individuals with diabetes mellitus who are at high risk of future cardiovascular disease events and individuals with prediabetes who are at high risk of progressing to diabetes mellitus.

Concurrency of Early-Age Exposure to Chinese Famine and Diabetes Increases Recurrence of Ischemic Stroke
Conclusions: Concurrency of early-age famine exposure and diabetes mellitus was associated with a higher risk of stroke recurrence within 12 months, and adherence to evidence-based KPI did not reduce the risk significantly.

Earlier Acupuncture Enhancing Long-Term Effects on Motor Dysfunction in Acute Ischemic Stroke: Retrospective Cohort Study.
Abstract Stroke is the leading fatal disease in China. This retrospective study aimed to explore the optimal acupuncture intervention time for long-term efficacy on motor dysfunction in patients suffering from acute ischemic stroke through 1-year of follow-up. Three hundred and nine patients collected at Longhua Hospital from January 2016 to December 2017 were classified into 3 groups based on the acupuncture intervention time, including groups A (within 2 days), B (within 3-7 days) and C (within 8-14 days). All patients had received standard treatment combined with acupuncture therapy. Specifically, acupuncture w...

Pioglitazone for prevention or delay of type 2 diabetes mellitus and its associated complications in people at risk for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
CONCLUSIONS: Pioglitazone reduced or delayed the development of T2DM in people at increased risk of T2DM compared with placebo (low-certainty evidence) and compared with no intervention (moderate-certainty evidence). It is unclear whether the effect of pioglitazone is sustained once discontinued. Pioglitazone compared with metformin neither showed advantage nor disadvantage regarding the development of T2DM in people at increased risk (low-certainty evidence). The data and reporting of all-cause mortality, SAEs, micro- and macrovascular complications were generally sparse. None of the included studies reported on QoL or so...

Prediabetes and long ‐term outcomes in patients with three‐vessel coronary artery disease:A large single‐center cohort study
ConclusionIn the context of 3VD, prediabetic patients has comparable long ‐term outcomes in terms of MACCE, cardiac death, and all‐cause death to those with normoglycemia. Routine screening of glycemic metabolism based on HbA1c and FPG might be valuable to identify individuals with DM who are at high risk of future CVD events and individuals with pre ‐DM who are at high risk of progressing to DM.
