Analysis of Influencing Factors of Compliance with Non-Vitamin K Antagonist Oral Anticoagulant in Patients with Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation and Correlation with the Severity of Ischemic Stroke
In this study, a total of 156 patients with NVAF who received NOAC anticoagulation therapy in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. The results showed that education background, place of residence, number of complications, CHA2DS2-VASc score, and HAS-BLED score were independent influencing factors for NOACS compliance of NVAF patients. Also, the Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a negative correlation (r = -0.465, P < 0.001) between NOAC compliance and severity of ischemic stroke in patients with NVAF. Therefore, clinical supervision and management of patients wit...

Perceptions and knowledge gaps on CHA < sub > 2 < /sub > DS < sub > 2 < /sub > -VASc score components: a joint survey of Chinese clinicians and clinical pharmacists
CONCLUSIONS: Chinese medical professionals, especially EPs and GPs, revealed a lack of knowledge and insufficient skills for CHA2DS2-VASc scores and their components. Improvements in the awareness of the CHA2DS2-VASc score and its detailed scoring criteria are urgently needed for Chinese medical professionals. Therefore, education programs concerning the introduction of stroke risk evaluation for AF patients and the development of referencing scoring tools are necessary.PMID:34694951 | DOI:10.1080/00325481.2021.1996815

Antithrombotic strategy and its relationship with outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation and chronic coronary syndrome
This study aimed to explore antithrombotic strategy and its relationship with outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) at high risk for stroke and chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) in real-world clinical practice. Patients with AF at high risk for stroke complicated with CCS from China Atrial Fibrillation Registry (CAFR) were enrolled. The patients were divided into non-antithrombotic (Non-AT) group, oral anticoagulants (OAC) group, antiplatelet therapy (APT) group (aspirin or clopidogrel), and dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) group (aspirin  + clopidogrel) according to their antithrombotic strategies at baseli...

Interrupted versus uninterrupted anticoagulation therapy for catheter ablation in adults with arrhythmias
CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis showed that the evidence is uncertain to inform the decision to either interrupt or continue anticoagulation therapy around CA procedure in adults with arrhythmia on outcomes of thromboembolic events, major and minor bleeding, all-cause mortality, asymptomatic thromboembolic events, and a composite endpoint of thromboembolic events (stroke, systemic embolism, major bleeding, and all-cause mortality). Most studies in the review adopted a minimal interruption strategy which has the advantage of reducing the risk of bleeding while maintaining a lower level of anticoagulation to prevent periproc...

Relationship among atrial fibrillation, the CHA2DS2-VASc score and ischaemic stroke in patients with coronary artery disease: a propensity score matching study in Hebei, China
Recent evidence has shown that the pathogenesis of ischaemic stroke associated with atrial fibrillation (AF) is complex and involves other factors in addition to arrhythmias. The purpose of this study was to i...

Predictors and Prognosis of Symptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients Without Thrombolysis: Analysis of Data From the Chinese Acute Ischemic Stroke Treatment Outcome Registry
Conclusion: sICH occurred in 0.73% of acute ischemic stroke patients without thrombolysis and was associated with a worse prognosis at 3 and 12 months. Atrial fibrillation, history of tumors, and NIHSS score at admission were independent risk factors of sICH.
