A Small Increase in Serum Creatinine within 48  h of Hospital Admission Is an Independent Predictor of In-Hospital Adverse Outcomes in Patients with ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Findings from the Improving Care for Cardiovascular Disease in the China Project
CONCLUSION: A small increase in Scr during hospitalization in patients with STEMI undergoing primary PCI that does not meet the criteria for AKI is a risk factor for in-hospital adverse outcomes. This effect is maintained in patients with normal Scr at hospitalization. Trial Registration. Clinical trial registration: URL: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Mobile health-technology integrated care in secondary prevention atrial fibrillation patients: a post-hoc analysis from the mAFA-II randomized clinical trial
AbstractAF patients with history of thromboembolic events are at higher risk of thromboembolic recurrences, despite appropriate antithrombotic treatment. We aimed to evaluate the effect of mobile health (mHealth) technology-implemented ‘Atrial fibrillation Better Care’ (ABC) pathway approach (mAFA intervention) in secondary prevention AF patients. The Mobile Health Technology for Improved Screening and Optimized Integrated Care in AF (mAFA-II) cluster randomized trial enrolled adult AF patients across 40 centers in China. The main outcome was the composite outcome of stroke or thromboembolism, all-cause death, and reho...

Prevalence and clinical characteristics of atrial fibrillation in hospitalized patients with coronary artery disease and hypertension: a cross-sectional study from 2008 to 2018
CONCLUSIONS: AF is highly prevalent among patients with HT-CAD. Patients with both HT-CAD and AF have a higher prevalence of cardiovascular-related comorbidities, low BP control rate, and low use of oral anticoagulation.PMID:36914935 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000002471

Pharmacogenetics of warfarin dosing in Chinese adults with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation
ConclusionGenotype-guided warfarin administration increases the average TTR, reaches higher TTR levels in the early anticoagulant phase, and significantly reduces the risk of ischemic stroke events.

Antithrombotic therapy and bleeding risk in the era of aggressive lipid-lowering: current evidence, clinical implications, and future perspectives
Chin Med J (Engl). 2023 Feb 21. doi: 10.1097/CM9.0000000000002057. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe clinical efficacy of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 inhibitors (PCSK9i) in reducing major cardiovascular adverse events related to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) has been well established in recent large randomized outcome trials. Although the cardiovascular and all-cause mortality benefit of PCSK9i remains inconclusive, current cholesterol management guidelines have been modified toward more aggressive goals for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Consequently, the emerging ...
