Predictors of stroke subtype and severity in patients of a tertiary care hospital, Dehradun
Conclusions: Stroke subtype is significantly associated with higher socioeconomic status and severe stroke. Stroke severity is significantly associated with hemorrhagic stroke. Stroke subtype, sex, dyslipidemia, alcohol intake, and education may act as predictors of stroke severity.

Prevent 2nd Stroke: a pilot study of an online secondary prevention program for stroke survivors.
CONCLUSIONS: The results indicated that online programs are an acceptable way to address these health outcomes. Implications to public health: Further research is needed to assess the effectiveness of these interventions using powered trials.

Black/Hispanic Disparities in a Vulnerable Post-Stroke Home Care Population
This article examines socio-economic and health disparities in a diverse, hypertensive sample of 495 post-stroke Black, non-Hispanic and Hispanic home health patients at risk of a recurrent stroke due to elevated systolic blood pressure (SBP), defined as SBP > 140 mmHg. The article, which analyzes cross-sectional data, focuses on correlates of patients’ SBP—the leading modifiable cause of stroke—and physical function—a key stroke sequela and indicator of post-stroke quality of life. Oral health and cardiovascular disease risk factors and mortality of cerebral haemorrhage, cerebral infarction and unspecified stroke in elderly men: A prospective cohort study.
Conclusions: Oral health measured by number of tooth extractions >10 was an independent predictor for cerebral infarction in addition to age, HDL-C, hs-C-reactive protein and diabetes. The pattern of risk factors varied between the specific stroke diagnoses.

Health risk factors in Australian Stroke Survivors: A latent class analysis
CONCLUSIONS: We identified two distinct health risk factor groups in our population. SO WHAT?: Future interventions may benefit from targeting the specific needs and requirements of people who have experienced stroke based on their distinct risk group. Alcohol may increase risk of some types of stroke but not others
(BioMed Central) Light and moderate alcohol consumption of up to two drinks per day is associated with a lower risk of ischemic stroke but seems to have no effect on a person's risk of hemorrhagic stroke, according to a study published in the open access journal BMC Medicine. High-to-heavy drinking was found to be associated with increased risk of all stroke types.
