CONCLUSIONS: Total integration is rarely achieved in the analysis. [Review of new evidence about the possible vertical transmission of coronavirus disease-2019].
CONCLUSIONS: Following our search criteria, we found no studies that demonstrate the detection of SARS-CoV-2, in conjunction with viral isolation and the evaluation of the infective capacity of viral particles, in clinical samples of amniotic fluid, placenta or membranes, umbilical cord blood and human milk, from women with a confirmed or clinical diagnosis of COVID-19. However, vertical transmission cannot be ruled out, larger studies are required that ideally locate in situ RNA and protein of SARS-CoV-2, as well as isolation that demonstrate the infective capacity of the viral particles. [Mental health and environmental health. A prospective view. SESPAS Report 2020].
Authors: Ordóñez-Iriarte JM Abstract Since the dawn of psychiatry, the environment has been an essential factor in the study and understanding of mental illness. Traditionally, the interrelationship between genome and environment has been a central theme in research on the etiopathogenesis of mental health problems and in the very conception of mental health. In its application to psychopathology and mental health, psychiatric enviromics was defined as «the study of environmental conditions and processes that promote mental health or increase the risk of developing mental disorders». Night entertainment venues comply poorly with the smoke-free law in Chile.
Authors: Peruga A, Fu M, Molina X, Fernández E Abstract The initial high level of compliance with the Chilean comprehensive national smoke-free law in 2013 is fading, particularly in the hospitality sector. This paper draws attention to how using a simple and low-cost surveillance inquiry may help focus on the use of scarce inspection resources to improve compliance with the law in the hospitality sector. We conducted a cross-sectional assessment of second-hand smoke exposure in night entertainment venues in Santiago, Chile, by measuring particulate matter of less than 2.5μm (PM2.5). Smoking where prohibi...

Social inequities in cardiovascular risk factors in women and men by autonomous regions in Spain.
CONCLUSION: In Spain, we found marked social inequities in the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors, with wide regional and women/men heterogeneity in these inequities. Education, social, economic and health policies at the regional level could reduce health inequities in cardiovascular risk factors and, thus, prevent cardiovascular disease. [Impact of Great Recession on mental health in Spain].
The objective of this article is to identify the effects of the Great Recession on the mental health of people residing in Spain. After presenting a conceptual framework on the mechanisms through which economic crises affect mental health, we describe the main results of 45 papers identified in our search. Studies indicate a worsening of mental health in Spain in the years of economic crisis, especially in men. Working conditions (unemployment, low wages, instability, precariousness) emerge as one of the main channels through which mental health is put at risk or deteriorates. This deterioration occurs with intensity in pa...

Analysis of the impact of lockdown on the reproduction number of the SARS-Cov-2 in Spain.
CONCLUSIONS: Handling a pandemic like COVID-19 is complex and requires quick decision making. The large differences found in the speed of propagation of the disease show us that being able to implement interventions at the earliest stage is crucial to minimise the impact of a potential infectious threat. Our work also stresses the importance of reliable up to date epidemiological data in order to accurately assess the impact of Public Health policies on viral outbreak. [Factors associated with the incidence and mortality from COVID-19 in the autonomous communities of Spain].
CONCLUSION: It is possible to predict the evolution of the epidemic through the analysis of incidence and mortality. Lower temperatures and the proportion of older people in residences are factors associated with a worse prognosis. These parameters must be considered in decisions about the timing and intensity of the implementation of containment measures. In this sense, strengthening epidemiological surveillance is essential to improve predictions. PMID: 32563533 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Gaceta Sanitaria)
