Thrombotic events following Covid-19 vaccines compared to Influenza vaccines
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: This study shows a significant increase in thrombotic events in subjects vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccines in comparison to a control group. The clinical implication of these findings should be interpreted with caution, in light of the high effectiveness of vaccination and the inherent risk of thrombosis from Covid-19 infection itself.PMID:35288031 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejim.2022.03.002

Efficacy and safety of rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis in patients with wake-up stroke: A meta-analysis
Background : Recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) is one of the most effective therapies for patients with acute ischemic stroke. However, wake-up stroke (WUS) is typically excluded from intravenous thrombolytic therapy because of the unclear time of symptom onset. Therefore, we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis in patients with WUS by meta-analysis. Methods : We completed a systematic literature search of PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and SinoMed and included relevant studies of WUS patients covering rt-PA thrombolysis and nonthrombolysis (published fr...

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis as a complication of COVID-19 infection - A case report
CONCLUSION: High index of suspicion of CVST is necessary when a patient presents with unexplained neurological manifestation following a recent COVID-19 infection to prevent from life-threatening complications. Furthermore, clinicians should not underestimate the multisystem involvement of COVID-19.PMID:35127077 | PMC:PMC8800506 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2022.103326

Case Series of Thrombosis With Thrombocytopenia Syndrome After COVID-19 Vaccination-United States, December 2020 to August 2021
CONCLUSION: Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome is a rare but serious adverse event associated with Ad26.COV2.S vaccination. The different demographic characteristics of the 3 cases reported after mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines and the much lower reporting rate suggest that these cases represent a background rate.PRIMARY FUNDING SOURCE: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.PMID:35038274 | DOI:10.7326/M21-4502

An Exceptional Clinical Presentation associating an occipital stroke, a Superior and Inferior Mesenteric Thrombosis following Covid 19 disease, case report
CONCLUSION: We discuss through this report the recommendations of anticoagulation in Covid 19 patients and the place of early rehabilitation in patients with stroke. We also report a new case among the rare cases described in the literature that associates several thrombo-embolic manifestations secondary to Covid 19, in particular the neurological and digestive association.PMID:34868574 | PMC:PMC8632876 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2021.103082

Cerebral venous thrombosis revealing neurosyphilis
CONCLUSION: Cerebral venous thrombosis in neurosyphilis is a poorly described entity. This case report confirms the status of great simulator of syphilis. In the context of its worldwide recrudescence, syphilis must be evoked in front of an unexplained neurological disorder.PMID:34863597 | DOI:10.1016/j.revmed.2021.11.001
