Short-Term Outcomes of Impella Support in Japanese Patients With Cardiogenic Shock Due to Acute Myocardial Infarction - Japanese Registry for Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device (J-PVAD)
CONCLUSIONS: AMICS treatment with Impella showed favorable 30-day survival and safety profiles. The survival rate of patients treated with Impella alone was particularly high. Further studies are needed to improve outcomes of patients with ECPELLA support.PMID:36682787 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-22-0476

Rescue Intracranial Balloon Angioplasty with or without Stent Placement in Acute Strokes with Intracranial Atherosclerotic Disease
CONCLUSION: Rescue angioplasty with or without stenting can lead to significant clinical improvement in patients with ICAD presenting with ELVO and refractory to thrombectomy; however, this procedure is associated with a high rate of morbidity in acute setting.PMID:36681321 | DOI:10.1016/j.wneu.2023.01.057

Causes of Death in Elderly Patients With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation - Results From the ANAFIE Registry
CONCLUSIONS: This subanalysis described the mortality according to causes of death of Japanese elderly NVAF patients in the DOAC era. Our results imply that a more holistic approach to comorbid conditions and stroke prevention are required in these patients.PMID:36653127 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-22-0614

Nocturnal Intermittent Hypoxia and the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease among Japanese Populations: The Circulatory Risk in Communities Study (CIRCS)
CONCLUSIONS: Nocturnal intermittent hypoxia may increase the risk of developing lacunar infarction and CHD among community-dwelling Japanese populations. However, we could not find a significant risk of developing total stroke or stroke subtypes such as intraparenchymal hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and total ischemic stroke.PMID:36642535 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63754

Emergency admission plasma D-dimer: a novel predictor for symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage after thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSION: Elevated admission D-dimer levels are an independent predictor of sICH in patients with AIS after thrombectomy.PMID:36604175 | DOI:10.1136/jnis-2022-019719

Endovascular recanalization in patients with severely disabling non-acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSION: Our data suggest that patients with SDIS (mRS score 3-5) with smaller infarct cores and better collateral circulation can benefit from non-acute ER, with no additional perioperative complications or mortality.PMID:36597954 | DOI:10.1136/jnis-2022-019346
