The clinical utility of dual-energy CT in post-thrombectomy care: Part 1, predictors and outcomes of subarachnoid and intraparenchymal hemorrhage
Dual-energy CT allows differentiation between blood and iodinated contrast. We aimed to determine predictors of subarachnoid and intraparenchymal hemorrhage on dual-energy CT performed immediately post-thrombectomy and the impact of these hemorrhages on 90-day outcomes.

Factors associated with stroke after COVID-19 vaccination: a statewide analysis
ConclusionConcurrent COVID-19 infection had the strongest association with early ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke after the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination. Although not all determinants of stroke, particularly comorbidities, were considered in this analysis, the Ad26.COV2.S vaccine was associated with a higher risk of early post-vaccination ischemic stroke than BNT162b2.

Hospital Discharge and Readmissions Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic for California Acute Stroke Inpatients
Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in the United States, with approximately 795,000 new strokes occurring annually, including acute ischemic stroke (AIS), intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).1 The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted all levels of care for stroke patients, such as delays in initial presentation, reduction in acute therapies, limitations of in-patient resources, delays or lack of initiation of secondary stroke prevention therapy, and limitations in rehabilitation services after hospital discharge.

ConclusionsBy the herein presented molecular and histological data we provide an important indication for an incomplete resolution of inflammation within the brain parenchyma after SAH. Benefits and risks of antiplatelet therapy for moyamoya disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionCurrent evidence showed that APT was associated with a reduced risk of hemorrhagic stroke in MMD patients but did not reduce the risk of ischemic stroke or increase the proportion of independent patients. There was insufficient evidence about the benefit of APT on survival and postoperative bypass patency after surgical revascularization. Associations of small vessel disease and acute symptomatic seizures in ischemic stroke patients
CONCLUSION: In this cohort of hospitalized patients with anterior circulation ischemic stroke, CMBs were more likely to be found in patients with ASS than those without ASS, an association that was attenuated when accounting for stroke severity, cortical infarct location, and hemorrhagic transformation. Analysis of Risk Factors for Epilepsy after Combined Re-Vascularization in Adult Patients with Moyamoya Disease
Conclusions: Pre-operative epilepsy, the location of the bypass recipient artery, new cerebral infarction, hyper-perfusion syndrome, and intra-cranial hemorrhage may have a causal relationship with epilepsy in adult MMD patients. It is suggested that some risk factors could be intervened to reduce the incidence of post-operative epilepsy in MMD patients.

Individualized Thresholds of Hypoxemia and Hyperoxemia and their Effect on Outcome in Acute Brain Injured Patients: A Secondary Analysis of the ENIO Study
ConclusionsIn patients with ABI, hypoxemia and mild/moderate hyperoxemia were relatively frequent. Hypoxemia and hyperoxemia during ICU stay may influence in-hospital mortality. However, the small number of oxygen values collected represents a major limitation of the study.

Safety and efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis in patients with acute ischemic stroke taking direct oral anticoagulants prior to stroke: a meta-analysis
ConclusionThe meta-analysis indicated that taking DOACs prior to stroke does not significantly increase the risk of sICH in selected patients with AIS treated with IVT. Furthermore, the benefits of IVT in selected patients taking DOACs appear to be comparable to those not taking anticoagulants. Further research is warranted to confirm the findings.

Association between hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio and hospital mortality in patients with non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage
ConclusionThere was a non-linear connection between the baseline HRR level and in-hospital mortality. A low level of HRR could increase the risk of death in participants with non-traumatic SAH.
