Carotid Plaque Characteristics Predict Recurrent Ischemic Stroke and TIA: The PARISK (Plaque At RISK) Study
CONCLUSIONS: IPH and total plaque volume are independent risk factors for recurrent ipsilateral ischemic stroke or TIA in patients with mild-to-moderate carotid stenosis. These plaque characteristics improve current decision making. Validation studies to implement plaque characteristics in clinical scoring tools are needed. Eptifibatide use in ischemic stroke patients undergoing endovascular thrombectomy: A matched cohort analysis
ConclusionIn this single-center analysis, EPT use during EVT was associated with a significantly higher rate of PH1/PH2 grade hemorrhages, but not with differences in sICH, 24-h NIHSS, or 90-day mortality. Randomized prospective trials are needed to determine the safety and efficacy of EPT in this population.

Intracerebral hemorrhage markers on non-contrast computed tomography as predictors of the dynamic spot sign on CT perfusion and associations with hematoma expansion and outcome
ConclusionHeterogeneous density and swirl sign are associated with the dynamic spot sign. The dynamic spot sign is a stronger predictor than NCCT hematoma markers of significant hematoma expansion. A co-located spot sign and hypodensity predicts in-hospital mortality.

An unusual neurological presentation in a patient with primary hypereosinophilic syndrome
Hypereosinophilic syndromes are characterized by an increased number of blood eosinophils (usually more than 1.5 × 109) infiltrating tissues and causing organ damage through over-production of pro-inflammatory cytokines with heterogeneous clinical presentation.
