IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 3984: Measuring Sleep Quality in the Hospital Environment with Wearable and Non-Wearable Devices in Adults with Stroke Undergoing Inpatient Rehabilitation
This study compared a commonly used actigraphy sleep monitoring device with a low-cost commercial device. Eighteen adults with stroke wore the Philips Actiwatch to monitor sleep latency, sleep time, number of awakenings, time spent awake, and sleep efficiency. A sub-sample (n = 6) slept with the Withings Sleep Analyzer in situ, recording the same sleep parameters. Intraclass correlation coefficients and Bland–Altman plots indicated poor agreement between the devices. Usability issues and inconsistencies were reported between the objectively measured sleep parameters recorded by the Withings device compared wi...

Converging theories on dreaming: Between Freud, predictive processing, and psychedelic research
Dreams are still an enigma of human cognition, studied extensively in psychoanalysis and neuroscience. According to the Freudian dream theory and Solms' modifications of the unconscious derived from it, the fundamental task of meeting our emotional needs is guided by the principle of homeostasis. Our innate value system generates conscious feelings of pleasure and unpleasure, resulting in the behavior of approaching or withdrawing from the world of objects. Multidimensional analysis of sedentary behaviour and participation in Spanish stroke survivors (Part&Sed-Stroke): a protocol for a longitudinal multicentre study
Introduction Stroke survivors usually experience long-lasting functional, emotional and social consequences that might contribute to sedentary behaviour and participation restrictions, which are important targets to address during rehabilitation. However, the trajectory and inter-relationship between these factors are unknown. Methods and analysis Part&Sed is a research project based on an observational study design with 6 and 12 months of follow-ups in stroke survivors. In addition, a qualitative analysis of the impact of the stroke on the stroke survivor, validation of the Satisfaction with Daily Occupation-Occupati...
