The evaluation of the sense of hearing in patients with carotid artery stenosis within the extracranial segments
The objective of the study was to assess the effect of carotid and vertebral artery stenosis on the function of the hearing and equilibrium organ on the basis of diagnostic audiological examinations including pure-tone threshold audiometry, impedance audiometry, otoacoustic emission tests and brainstem auditory evoked potential tests. AbstractThis systematic review summarizes the existing data on headache and pregnancy with a scope on clinical headache phenotypes, treatment of headaches in pregnancy and effects of headache medications on the child during pregnancy and breastfeeding, headache related complications, and diagnostics of headache in pregnancy. TIPIC syndrome
A 31-year-old woman presented with left acute cervical pain. Cervical imaging showed a large pericarotid infiltration (figure 1). A diagnosis of transient perivascular inflammation of the carotid artery (TIPIC) syndrome was made. The patient received steroids with full clinical recovery 12 days after onset. The follow-up ultrasound showed striking decrease of the perivascular infiltration, confirming the diagnosis (figure 2).

Acute ischemic stroke what is hidden behind?
We present a case of a 58-year-old male patient that presented to ED with sudden onset of headache and left-sided hemiparesis, computed tomography (CT) demonstrated an ischemic stroke of the right middle cerebral artery. When the question of whether to start r-TPA or mechanical thrombectomy was discussed, a cardiac point-of-care ultrasound was performed in ED and showed a type A aortic dissection; immediately a CT aortic angiogram was performed and confirmed the diagnosis. Ischemic stroke in a patient with Parry-Romberg syndrome (P4.064)
Conclusions:The only other reported patient with PRS and stroke was also found to have a PFO. It is possible that the elevated ANA seen in this patient correlates with propensity towards small venous clots not seen on ultrasound. This may lead to paradoxical emboli and ischemic strokes. It is important to note this potential association between PRS and ischemic stroke in young patients without other known risk factors. Evaluation of subclinical atherosclerosis in migraine patients by ultrasound radiofrequency data technology: preliminary results.
CONCLUSION: Migraine patients are more prone to atherosclerosis compared to healthy individuals. CAIMT measurement with sonography can be utilized in follow-up to detect subclinical atherosclerosis.

Internal Carotid Artery Stenosis and Flow Diversion: Relationship with Headache (P6.099)
Conclusion: Recognition of flow-diversion into the ECA as a possible mechanism for headaches may help in further understanding of ICA disease, its progression, and effects of carotid revascularization on quality of life.
