Critical analysis of the evaluation of postoperative dysphagia following an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion
CONCLUSION: Postoperative dysphagia risk increases in ACDF compared to ALDF, likely due to underlying anatomy. Postoperative dysphagia symptoms are not effectively documented by spine surgeons and as a result underevaluated by dysphagia specialists. ConclusionsDRLs for CTDIvol and DLP for EUCLID clinical indications from diverse organizations were established and can contribute to dose optimization. These values were usually significantly higher in the US than in Europe.Key Points•Registry data were used to create benchmarks for 10 common indications for CT identified by the European Society of Radiology.•Observed US radiation doses were higher than European for 9 of 10 indications (except chronic sinusitis).•The presented diagnostic reference levels and median doses highlight potentially unnecessary variation in radiation dose.

Cerebellar Stroke and Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis following Cement Leakage into the Vertebral Artery during Cervical Vertebroplasty
This report describes an unusual vertebral artery cement embolization during C3 transpedicular vertebroplasty performed under computed tomography (CT) guidance and fluoroscopy. The Institutional Review Board approved this case report, and the patient ’s consent for publication was obtained. A 54-year-old woman with an invasive lobular breast carcinoma suffered from cervical pain. A CT scan showed spinal osteolytic lesions. A thoracic vertebral biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of breast cancer metastasis.

Postoperative malignant hyperthermia confirmed by calcium-induced calcium release rate after breast cancer surgery, in which prompt recognition and immediate dantrolene administration were life-saving: a case report
ConclusionsThe occurrence of MH can be life-threatening, but its frequency is very low, and genetic testing and muscle biopsy are required to confirm the diagnosis. On retrospective evaluation using the malignant hyperthermia scale, the present case was almost certainly that of a patient with MH. Prompt recognition and immediate treatment with dantrolene administration and body cooling effectively reversed a potentially fatal syndrome. This was hence a valuable case of a patient with postoperative MH that led to a confirmed diagnosis by CICR.

DROSHA rs10719 and DICER1 rs3742330 polymorphisms in endometriosis and different diseases: Case-control and review studies.
CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that only the DICER1 rs3742330 A > G polymorphism may be associated with susceptibility to endometriosis. The frequencies of both polymorphisms were significantly different among populations, and there were discrepancies in the risk associations with the development of diseases.
